Thankfully it didn't take long for my ankle to get better, especially after plenty of rest, which was mostly forced as I'd been eager to move about, but the guys literally made me stay in bed. As a compromise that they had come up with, they brought me food and drinks and kept me company more often than not. I was very appreciative of this, and not for the first time, I felt like I didn't deserve them.
At one point, I'd mentioned to Minho that I'd like to decorate my room; I was bored of the same white walls and minimal furniture. So, he had sat with me with his laptop and a credit card, letting me browse through home decor websites, allowing me to buy whatever I wanted. I even got to buy some more clothes that were more my style, rather than the plain ones I'd been wearing the past few weeks.
By the time my ankle had healed enough for me to move around freely, my shopping haul had arrived. To say I was excited was an understatement.
"Was this much stuff really necessary?" Hyunjin complained as we headed back downstairs, passing Felix and Changbin carrying a large box up to my room.
The guys had been kind enough to help me move everything upstairs even without me asking for help, though if I was honest, I'd likely have asked them anyway.
"Yes," I said instantly with a grin. "Minho let me have free reign over what I could buy."
"Of course," Hyunjin rolled his eyes, then chuckled. "He never usually shows his emotions, but he seems to have a soft spot for you."
"Don't you all?" I laughed softly, and he nodded with a grin.
"True," he said, then smirked, throwing an arm over my shoulder. "You're my wife, after all."
"Oh, of course," I said sarcastically, giggling. Ever since we had to pretend to be a couple, Hyunjin and I had been joking about it.
"What now, my love?" he winked. However, my laugh was cut short when his face dropped, looking behind me.
Turning, I almost flinched as I saw Chan standing nearby, scowling.
"What are you doing?" he asked quietly.
"We're taking Alex's stuff upstairs," Hyunjin answered as he gently pulled me closer to him.
"Well, get it out of the way quickly," Chan said gruffly, and we nodded. Without another word, he left through the front door, almost in a huff.
"No way was he pissed just by my stuff being here?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Honestly, I don't know with Chan these days," Hyunjin sighed, then clapped his hands. "Right, let's get the rest of this upstairs."
It didn't take much longer for us to move everything upstairs. I wasn't going to unpack any of the furniture yet as I still wanted to paint, but I decided to leave that until the following day, and instead, I just moved my clothes into the walk-in closet. The guys left me to organise the clothes, but they decided to sit in my way on the floor as they chatted away.
By the time I was done, it was dinnertime. Minho, who hadn't been helping with my new stuff, had been slaving away in the kitchen, preparing a meal for us. I was grateful, as I had mostly been having ready-made meals for dinner lately. The food was delicious as Minho was an amazing cook, and I found myself unable to decide if it was he or Ms Choi who had better cooking skills.
After dinner, we all went to the living room to chill and watch some TV. Minho joined us, even though he was trying to get a hold of Chan; he hadn't been seen all day since Hyunjin and I had seen him leave, and he wasn't answering his phone. As Minho didn't seem overly concerned, I definitely wasn't.
