Third person p.o.v

For the first time since Alex had been taken, Chan was feeling a large sense of hope; he was so sure of this hope that it almost overwhelmed him. But, he knew he also had to keep his head in the game if this was to work.

Through the skills of his members, and their allies, they had discovered the tunnel entrance that led through the mountain and into the valley where Nct's base was situated. They knew that the tunnel was heavily guarded halfway down, but with heavily armoured vehicles they could get through with minimal issues. With drone surveillance they also saw the actual building of the base, realising how huge the place actually was; easily three times the size of Skz's mansion. Finding Alex in there would be difficult, let alone actually getting in there in the first place. But they did discover that Nct didn't seem to have any defenses against any possible air attacks.

So, with the help of some of their most trusted allies, plans were quickly and efficiently formed, ensuring they covered all bases, fixed any flaws, and put contingency plans into place for any situation that may arise.

The plan was for there to be two groups. One group would take the tunnel with a number of armoured vehicles; the vehicle in front would have a turret, so that would take out most of the guards and any of defences, leaving the other vehicles to mop up if necessary. This group was the distraction group. The other group would be parachuting in. As this was taking place at night, the hope was that they wouldn't be spotted easily, and that there wouldn't be many Nct guards or members around to stop them. This was the group that was tasked with finding Alex. Chan was part of this second group.

"Thirty seconds until drop off," the Skz leader said through the comms to all teams in the helicopters. "Remember, once we're in the building we're radio silent unless our cover is blown."

The choppers were now hovering some height about the Nct base, high enough that they couldn't be heard by anyone on the ground.

"This is it!" Chan said through the comms. "This is where we get Alex back! Ground team, how are things down there?"

"We're through the tunnel," Peniel replied. "Just stopping in front of the base, they're already firing on us and more are arriving by the second. I'd say the distraction is working."

"Good," Chan said. "Be careful down there. Air team, we jump on my go."

The door to the chopper was opened, the air nipping at them with the wind from the high altitude. Thankfully it wasn't that windy tonight. Chan stepped up to the door, ready to jump.

"Three, two, one, go!" he said through the comms.

On go, Chan jumped out of the chopper, focusing on the lights of the base below that shone in the darkness. When he was close enough, he pulled the cord on his vest, the parachute springing out to slow down his descent. Around him he heard other parachutes opening, some of them in his sight.

After a minute of descending carefully, all of the air team had landed on the large rooftop of the Nct mansion. Chan didn't waste time in getting his parachute vest off, checking his weapons and armour. A quick glance around told him that the rest of the team were doing the same, coming up to him when they were ready. Over the edge of the building he could hear the gunshots of the firefight; he hoped the ground team would hold out long enough for them to find Alex.
