You sigh, getting out of your bed. You walk down to your kitchen and grab some things in order to bake some cookies. You wanted to go over to the Sugawara house when you finished, planning to deliver some of the cookies to your childhood friend. You hoped he'd appreciate them after a long day of practice.

You noticed that once he started high school, he was almost too busy to come visit you. Only when he had time off from volleyball, would he go spend some time with you. You grew to miss him. A few times at school, you'd go to his classroom and try visiting him during breaks. Unfortunately, he was too busy and was usually around other members of the Karasuno High School boys' volleyball club.

You sighed, deep in your thoughts while baking Sugawara's favorite cookies - your homemade sugar cookies. You thought about all the time you had spent with the boy while growing up, slowly becoming sad that things changed once he became more involved with volleyball. Sadly, you take out the next batch of cookies, repeating your baking process.

You paused while waiting for the oven go off, remembering two of the volleyball players on the team. From what you knew from Sugawara, they were the troublemakers of the team. But they were second years, just like you. You wondered if you could find Tanaka Ryuunosuke and Nishinoya Yuu at school. Maybe if you did that, you'd be able to see Sugawara more often.

Your mind formed different scenarios, giving you a plan to follow once you were at school again. You smiled to yourself, still baking the cookies. You finally had an idea that might allow you to spend more time with the boy you care most about. This alone was enough to improve your mood for the entire day.

When you had finished baking all the cookies, you let them cool off a bit. Soon, you were putting them into a container and readying yourself to head to the Sugawara house, which happened to be right next door to your house. You leave your house, making sure to lock the door before leaving the property. You walk over to your childhood friend's house, a smile on your face as you ring the doorbell.

Sugawara's mom answers the door, smiling once she sees your face. "Oh, why hello there, Y/n-chan! How are you doing?"

"I'm good. How have you been, Mrs. Sugawara?"

"Oh, the usual. What brings you here?"

You lift the container of cookies. "I was baking today and wanted to see if Koushi would like any. Is... is he home yet?" You felt nervous, unsure if you had come at the right time. You thought you had, but you were starting to doubt it.

Mrs. Sugawara nods. "He is, he just got home, actually. He should be in the shower by now. Oh, please come in, sweetie. I think Koushi will be more than happy to see you today."

You walk into the house, taking your shoes off before following the older woman farther into the house. "Thank you for letting me in. It feels like I haven't seen Koushi much lately."

"I know! I feel like I barely get to see you anymore! But, it seems like the volleyball club is really tiring him out. He comes home later than usual, and he rarely says anything to me or my husband. We've gotten quite worried about Koushi. I'm so glad you came over to visit him."

You smile at her, sitting with her on the couch in their living room. "Oh, I don't mind coming over to visit. I miss seeing him sometimes. He really is busy with the volleyball club nowadays."

Mrs. Sugawara smile sadly at you. "It's a real shame. You two used to be closer than siblings. I was hoping that closeness would last your entire lives. But, I guess not, huh?"

You look away, eyes focused on the cookies you were holding. "I guess. I wanna say that Koushi and I are still close, but with how busy he is with volleyball, it feels like we might be drifting apart."

"It's not what I imagined. But I'm glad he enjoys volleyball."

"Me too. I'm just happy that he gets to do something he loves. As long as he's happy, I think I'm fine."

The floor creaks from a bit away.

"Hey, mom, who was at the door?" Sugawara's voice sounded, his footsteps getting closer to where you and his mom are.

His mother turns around to greet him. "Y/n is here. She brought something she baked."

He looks over at you once he was in the room, a smile on his face. "Hey, Y/n. It's been a while."

You nod, smiling at him. "I made some sugar cookies today. Would you like some?"

"I'd love some."
