You cheered loudly the moment the Karasuno boys won the match, jumping up and down with excitement. You were proud of the guys, happy that they finally beat the team they had so much trouble with last year. You run out of the stadium, heading back to the first floor to greet the team. As you were getting ready to run over to them as they were cleaning up their court, you noticed a brief interaction between Kageyama and Oikawa.

You knew they had a history, but you didn't have the full story. You mainly heard about it from Oikawa, not knowing why Kageyama disliked the older setter. You walk over to the team, standing beside Sugawara.

"Great job, you guys!"

Everyone jumped at the sound of your voice, whipping around to look at you. "Y/n!"

You smile at them. "That was awesome!"

Ukai raised a brow at you. "Finally done with your little breakdown?"

You look away. "I was done when the whistle blew after you all had your little timeout."

Daichi smiled at you. "That's fine. I'm guessing what coach told us earlier was your idea?"

You nod. "I texted Kiyoko as soon as I felt better. Sorry that my head wasn't in the right place for the whole game." You bow, feeling embarrassed that you got called out for crying during their match.

Asahi smiled. "It's no problem. We're glad you helped us at all. You did more than we were expecting."

You stand straight, smiling at all of them while your face was still tinted pink. "I'm glad to help you all out!"

"Come on, kids, let's go!"

Upon hearing Ukai's words, you all finished cleaning up and head out of the arena. You all walk back out to the bus to head back to the school.

Sugawara stops you before you get on. "Hey, Y/n, why don't we sit next to each other today?"

You nod, heading onto the bus. "Ok. Any reason why you wanted to sit next to me?"

He sits on the seat beside you, allowing you to sit next to the window. "No reason in particular. It's just been a while since we've been this close to each other."

You look at him sleepily. "We literally hugged this morning. I think that was being pretty close."

"Yeah, but we never ride in a vehicle together."

You lean your head on his shoulder. "True. But we never exactly had a reason to ride on a bus or something together." You close your eyes, finally feeling the exhaustion of the long day you've had.

He leaned his head on top of yours. "Yeah. I'm just glad we can spend this kind of time together."

"Yeah. Hey, I'm gonna take a nap. Wake me up when we arrive at the school."

"Will do."

You soon fell asleep on his shoulder, sleeping peacefully. You start dreaming, thoughts about volleyball floating in your unconscious head.

Nishinoya peers over a few seats to look at you and the boy next to you. "Is Y/n-chan asleep?"

Sugawara nods. "Yes, so stay quiet."

Tanaka grins. "Wow, Suga-san. I get your plan now. Good luck with Y/n."

He looks at his teammates. "Wait, you guys thought I planned this out? I was just trying to spend time with her."

Daichi rolled his eyes. "You two live next to each other, you can always spend time together. You'll be spending time together when you're walking back home. So why else would you want to sit next to her on the bus?"

Sugawara looks away. "Cuz she gets tired after she cries and it's a good chance to have her fall asleep on my shoulder..."

"Knew it." The captain smirks.

Asahi smiles. "It's kind of sweet, when you think about it. I mean, Suga still knows her well enough to know when to plan to have things like this happen."

Nishinoya smirked. "So, even Suga-san has this side to him."

The third year setter sighed. "Shut up. You all know why I'm doing this."

You murmur, waking up slightly. "Cuz we're friends, right?"

Sugawara starts stroking your hair, attempting to put you back to sleep. "Yes, yes. We're best friends. You love me, I love you. Now get some sleep, you're tired and had a long day."

You drift back off to sleep, not paying attention to what he said. If you had, you might've had a bigger reaction. Too bad you were exhausted after crying for several minutes earlier on in the day.

Sugawara lets out a sigh. "You're so tired. Looks like I might have to carry you home, Y/n."

A small smile stretches across you lips. You started dreaming of all the time you spent with Sugawara while you two were children.

Second and third years snicker.

Daichi is the first of them to speak up. "Take good care of her, Suga. You may want her to be your girlfriend, but we could still use her as a manager."

The silver haired boy groans. "Shut up!"
