You sigh, getting out of bed. It was earlier than you were used to, but you didn't have a choice. You had to meet up with the team, so you all could get on the bus heading to Tokyo. You felt bad that Kageyama and Hinata had to stay behind, due to each of them failing one of their tests.
You were dreading the moment you leave your house. You knew Sugawara would be out there, waiting for you. Recently, he's been in a bad mood. You knew it had something to do with Oikawa. You just didn't know what exactly was the problem. You didn't want to ask either, knowing you'd only feel hurt when you hear that answer.
You sighed as you held the door handle to your front door, not wanting to open it up. You didn't have a choice, though. You had to get leaving, or you'd be late. You let out another sigh as you opened the door, stepping out of your house and locking the door behind you.
When you turn to the path you usually take, you see Sugawara standing there. Like always, he was waiting for you expectantly. His eyes were focused on you, he watched your every move. He walks up to you, once you walk a little bit away from your house. He offers a small smile, gesturing with his head that you two start walking to the school. You nod, silently walking beside the boy as you two set out for the first of two training camps you'd have in Tokyo.
He initiates a conversation. "Did you sleep well, Y/n? If not, you might be able to get some rest on the ride there."
You nod. "I think I'll be fine, until tonight. Thanks for worrying about me, Koushi."
He glances at you from the corner of his eye. "Are you glad that you'll be getting away from Oikawa for a bit?"
You don't look at him, feeling yourself tense up slightly. "Yeah. I really don't like how he constantly wants to go on dates with me. I'm still trying to think of ways to get some distance between us."
The silver haired boy smiles after hearing that. "It's like a vacation for you, huh?"
You snort. "Yeah, but it's not long enough."
"What would be long enough, then?"
"The rest of my life." You deadpanned.
Sugawara chuckled. "That would be nice. You could fall in love with whoever you want, and get married."
You sigh, thinking about a future with the boy next to you. "Work a career in my desired field. Have children to start a family of my own."
His smile stretched wider. "How many kids did you want?"
"At least one of each."
He made a mental note of that. "Ah, so I have some work cut out for me."
You froze, turning to stare at him. "What?"
Sugawara stopped, turning his whole body to fully face you. "Well, you'd want to have all that with me, right?"
You tensed. "How would you know that?"
He tips his head to one side. "Well, maybe I feel the same way."
"What?"
He looks away. "Maybe I'm jealous that Oikawa gets to be your boyfriend. Maybe I wanna be in his position."
"Koushi, that's not funny. Don't make those kinds of jokes." You started walking again, not looking at him.
Sugawara sighs, following you. "I'm not joking, Y/n."
"Seriously, you can stop now."
"So, you don't like me anymore? Have you actually fallen for Oikawa?"
You turn around to face him. "No, of course not."
He narrowed his eyes. "Then, why don't you want me to talk about this?"
"You shouldn't say something just because you know it's what someone else wants to hear."
"I'm not saying it for you, Y/n. I'm saying it for me. Remember when I talked about how I felt when you and Oikawa got together after the bet? I was being honest. I have feelings for you. I'm done hiding them. I'm not gonna pretend like I haven't been in love with you our whole lives. Why should I hide my feelings if I know how you feel about me?"
You stare at him in disbelief. "Now really isn't the best time to confess those kinds of feelings?"
"Because you're in a relationship with Oikawa?"
"Well, duh! I'm taken, even if it was because of a bet! You confessing right now is wrong!"
Sugawara walked over to you, taking one of your hands in his. "I know, but there's no point in me keeping it to myself. Once we go to the prefecture qualifiers in October, I'm going to ask you to be my girlfriend. So, you get to know how I feel, and I'll treat you how I would if you were my girlfriend."
"Koushi, no."
He grins. "Koushi, yes."
"Don't. I mean it. I'm in a relationship."
He frowns. "Only because you lost a bet. You're forced to be in this relationship with Oikawa. You'd rather be with me, right?"
You look at the ground, nodding. "Of course I'd rather be with you, Koushi. That's just not possible right now, though. Don't treat my any differently just because you like me. Until October, I'm Oikawa's girlfriend. You can't try treating me as if I'm your girlfriend until then."
The grin returns to his face. "I can agree to that, but I mean it. Once you and Oikawa are done, I'm asking you out. It doesn't matter to me if we win or lose, I will ask you to be mine."
