You get up earlier in the morning than usual. You quickly head to your kitchen and make the bento boxes for you and Sugawara. There was smile etched onto your face as you made the lunches you two would be eating together at school.

When you finished making the bento boxes, you stored them into your fridge before heading upstairs. You change into the Karasuno school uniform, gathering all the things you'd need for school. You grab your bag, heading to the kitchen and putting the bentos into your school bag. And that's when you head outside to start heading for morning practice.

Sugawara was waiting for you outside. A smile appears on his face as he spots you leaving your house. "Morning, Y/n."

You look at him, almost surprised to see him. "Oh, morning, Koushi. What are you doing here?"

"I was going to walk with you to school, since we'll both be at morning practice. It's just easier to walk together and show up together. And after afternoon practice, we can head home together. It's been a while since we've walked to and from school together. Won't it be nice to do all that again?"

You nod, smiling at him. "Sounds great. I guess this is a good start to making up for all the time we never got to spend together."

He nods, clearly happy with this arrangement. "Exactly. Do you have the filled out manager form?"

"Yes." You take it out of your bag and show him. "Right here. Look good to you?"

"Very. I still can't believe you'd actually become our manager. What made you decide on it?"

You didn't want to tell him that you joined as a way of spending time with him, worried that it would be too much of a confession of your feelings for him. "I really like spending time with everyone on the team, and I get along with them. And after helping Kiyoko-san out yesterday, I thought I might feel bad if I stopped helping her out."

Sugawara eyed you for a moment. "I see. Well, I'm glad you joined the team. The other guys seemed pretty excited about it, too."

"I'm glad. I hope I can continue getting along with everyone."

"I don't think that will be a problem. You were all the guys could talk about yesterday. Even Kageyama and Tsukishima seemed happy to have you around. And those two never seem happy."

Your smile gets slightly bigger. "Well, I'm glad they all seem happy."

"Me too."

You let out a sigh.

"Is something wrong, Y/n?"

"I still have to go on a date with an energetic and overly excited Nishinoya in a few days. I feel like I'm gonna be exhausted afterwards."

Sugawara felt somewhat happier with your thought process, hoping you wouldn't develop feelings for the libero. "Don't worry. You can probably distract him easily. Hopefully, he won't be too much of a handful for you."

"Can I go over to your house after it?"

"I don't see why you can't. And I'll want to hear all about it."

You groan. "Do you like seeing me suffer?"

"No. But I have an interest in your life."

You raise a brow at him. "You don't usually ask about my life much, if at all. Why are you suddenly interested in it?"

He flinches, not thinking you'd notice that. "I've just been too busy before. I'm trying to make some time for you."

You shrug it off. "Then what to you want to know?"

"How many relationships have you been in?"

You freeze, surprised by that question. "None. I usually get confessions, or guys asking me out... but I always turn them down and let them know I'm not interested in them like that."

"I see."

"What about your love life?"

"Nonexistent. I'm in the same boat as you, except I'm usually too busy to make time for a relationship."

"Any interest in having one, Koushi?"

Sugawara shrugs. "Maybe one day. Why?"

You don't look at him. "I think it's just unusual to not have experience in relationships at your age, especially since you're a boy. From what I know, guys tend to be more open to dating than most girls are. And girls tend to take dating seriously, where most guys are just in it for fun and experience."

He eyes you. "Where'd you hear that from?"

"My parents, your parents, people at school. The list goes on."

He looks ahead of him once more. "I see. Don't take everything you hear so seriously, though. Not all guys are the same."

"I know that much. I'm just saying what I've been told. Never did I say that I believe that with every fiber of my being."

Sugawara chuckles. "True. If I'm being perfectly honest, I keep myself away from the dating scene because any girl that's had a crush on me probably isn't looking for something serious. I want something I know will last. I'm guessing you're the same?"

"Yeah."

"Oh, Suga, L/n, good morning.

You two look over at Daichi and Asahi, greeting them in unison. "Good morning."

The four of you continue walking to morning practice together.
