Practice returned the next day, like usual. Except Kageyama and Hinata were placed on opposite sides of the net. It was clear that things weren't going to get any better between the two boys any time soon. You worried about how this team would function if Kageyama and Hinata stopped working together.
Coach Ukai came over to you. "I know you're worried. It's written all over your face, L/n."
"The team will suffer if Kageyama and Hinata can't get it together."
Ukai sighed. "They're both doing extra practice separately. We're working on a solution to the problem we've hit. There's nothing to worry about."
You let out a sigh, your eyes still focused on the team. "I hope you're right, coach. Things need to get better, for the whole team."
"They all have their own plans. They're going to be working to get much stronger. You have nothing to worry about." The coach walked away, leaving you to your thoughts.
You watch as the boys practice. You don't notice anything particularly amazing, but you were hoping that something good was going to happen. However, nothing happened during practice. It was normal. You stayed for a little bit after practice ended, seeing if any of the guys would need any help with their solo practices.
Sugawara walked up to you. "Everything alright, Y/n?"
You nod, not looking at him yet. "Yeah. Did you need help with anything?"
He shakes his head. "No. I think we're all good. I think you can go home early."
You look up at him briefly. "I see. I guess I can text Oikawa that he can walk me home now. That, or I can go sit in on his practice for a little bit."
Sugawara frowns. "You want to spend time with Oikawa?"
You nod, looking at the ground. "He's been getting my mind off of the problems of the team. And it makes him happy, so I might as well spend some time with him before we go back to Tokyo."
He turns his back to you. "I see. Have fun." He walks away without letting you say another word.
You sigh, walking out of the gym. You start walking to Aoba Johsai, a frown on your lips. None of the guys wanted your help. But, they're your team. How could they not need or want your help?
You felt sad as you walked into the Seijoh gym. The boys turned to look at you.
A frown appeared on Iwaizumi's face. "Really, Oikawa? You invited one of Karasuno's managers here?"
Oikawa sighed. "She's not as close to the team at the moment. She needs a little distraction. Let me try to get her mind off of her troubles before she has to head back to Tokyo for Karasuno's training camp."
The ace sighed. "Fine. But you better hope that she won't tell Karasuno about anything we're doing."
Oikawa kept his eyes on you, as you approached him. "She won't. I doubt she's talking much with anyone at Karasuno at the moment."
When you reached the brunette setter, you wrap you arms around him and put your face into his shirt.
Oikawa was surprised. "Is everything alright?"
"None of the guys want my help. I feel useless as a manager."
Even Iwaizumi felt bad. The ace put a hand on one of your shoulders. "Mind helping us out for a bit, then. We could use an extra set of hands."
You look up, tears in your eyes. "I'll help. Thank you, Iwaizumi-san."
The ace looks away, rubbing the back of his neck. "It's no problem. Just, please don't cry."
You nod, letting go of Oikawa. "What can I help you with?"
Oikawa smiles at you. "Just toss me some balls while I practice setting to the spikers, ok?"
You nod, standing by the ball cart. You look at Oikawa, waiting for him to nod before tossing a ball his way.
He smiles as he tosses to Iwaizumi. "Great toss, Y/n-chan! Keep em coming!"
You smile, continuing to help out the Aoba Johsai team. It was fun, and you felt needed and wanted. The guys also seemed to like having you around.
Oikawa was especially happy that you were there. "Iwa-chan. I think Karasuno is driving her to me more."
Iwaizumi looks at your smile, seeing how different you were from the moment you stepped into their gym. "You might be right. You said they were having trouble getting along, didn't you. Maybe the team is falling apart, but doesn't want Y/n around since she's your girlfriend."
Oikawa frowned. "If they're pushing her away just because she and I are dating, I'll work harder to steak her from them. One day, I'll have her cheering for me."
Kunimi walked up to you. "Do you know how to set, Y/n?"
You look at him, nodding. "Yes. Did you need someone to set to you?"
"Yahaba and Oikawa are busy, and I wanted to work on my spikes for a little bit. Would you mind setting to me?"
"Not at all. I'd love to help you out."
Kunimi realized just why his captain was in love with you. "You're a really nice person. We're not even your team, but you want to help us out."
"I'm a manager, it's my job to help a volleyball team in need. My team doesn't need me at the moment, so, even if it's not Karasuno, I'm willing to help out whatever team says they need me."
