Kiyoko chuckles. "So that's how it is."

You nod. "Yeah. I wanted to help out the team, so I went through all that trouble."

You had just finished explaining the situation to the female manager. She found it amusing, but also felt happy that someone else cares enough for the team that they'd be willing to go through so much to fix things.

She gave you a kind smile. "I already think you'd make a great manager. It would be a lot of help if you were around more often. And the guys seem to really like you, especially Nishinoya."

You groan. "I only agreed to that to get him here."

"Are you actually gonna do it?"

You nod. "I need to make sure he stays on the team. I'm willing to go on one date for that."

Kiyoko grins. "You need to tell me how that goes."

"I will."

You two turned your attention back to the boys on the court. The team was divided into two teams, playing against each other.

"Kageyama is a better setter than I thought."

Kiyoko nods at you. "I don't think Sugawara will be the starting setter anymore."

Your eyes widened. "He won't? But Koushi is a great setter!"

Kiyoko sighed. "But Kageyama is better. I'm sorry to say, but your childhood best friend won't be on the court as much as you hope he would be."

You look at the ground, feeling saddened by this news. "Poor Koushi. All his hard work will only go to waste if he doesn't get to play in matches."

The black haired girl nods. "I don't think he'd be too upset by it. Just keep helping and encouraging him. That should keep his spirits up."

You smile, looking up at her with pink cheeks. "I will! Koushi means so much to me, I wanna see him happy at all times!"

Kiyoko connected the dots. "You're crushing on Sugawara, aren't you?"

You look away. "Please don't say a word to anyone."

"I won't. How long have you liked him that way?"

"Since middle school. I mean, we live right next to each other. We used to see each other all the time, so I guess it was bound to happen one day."

Kiyoko nods. "I think so. So, do you know if you're gonna become a manager?"

You nod. "I need an application form. I'll fill it out tonight and turn it in tomorrow morning."

She smiles. "I'm looking forward to it."

The boys paused what they were doing, deciding to take a small break from practice. A few of them look over at you girls, seeing smiles on both of your faces.

Tanaka smiled. "Suga-san, Noya, convince her to stay as a manager. We need to see Kiyoko smile more like that."

Nishinoya nodded. "I'll do what I can."

Sugawara sighed. "Leave Y/n alone. Let her make her own decisions."

Daichi just looked at the boys of the team. "Don't force her to stay if she doesn't want to. Just be friendly towards her. No bothering her, I'm talking specifically to you, Nishinoya and Tanaka."

Kiyoko glanced at the boys, turning back to you. "Looks like they're on a break. Want to help me pass out water bottles and towels?"

You nod, smiling at her. "I'd love to help you, Kiyoko-san."

You and Kiyoko start grabbing water bottles and towels, walking over to the boys.

You approach Sugawara first. "Here, Koushi. You've been working hard, looks like you could use some water."

He happily takes the bottle and towel from you. "Thanks, Y/n. How are you doing?"

"Great. Kiyoko-san is really nice. I like helping her out and talking with her."

"That's good. Oh, and what exactly were you planning to try to make tonight?"

You grin at him. "That's a surprise."

He chuckled. "Alright. I can't wait to go to your house after practice."

You smile, a slight blush spreading across your face. "Yeah. I need to hand stuff out to some of the other guys. We can talk later, on the way home."

Sugawara nods. "Good luck."

You had water bottles and towels to Asahi, Nishinoya, Tanaka, and all four of the first years.

Hinata thanked you the moment you got close to him. "Thanks, Y/n-senpai. Were you watching me?"

"Yes, I saw you practicing."

"Weren't my spikes cool?"

You grin. "The coolest. You should show me how you do that sometime, Hinata-kun."

He beams. "I will! Does this mean you're gonna be a manager for the club?"

You nod. "Kiyoko-san is giving me an application form before we leave practice. I'll be here to watch all your cool spikes all the time."

Hinata jumps high into the air. "You're the best, Y/n-senpai!"

This gained the attention of all the other members of the boys' volleyball club. Sugawara smiled, seeing how well you were getting along with everyone.

The moment that sweet smile of yours reached Sugawara's eyes, he felt his hear skip a beat.
