Sugawara quickly snapped out of his dazed state before the match started. He was surprised when you kissed him, but his heart was beating rapidly because of it.

You watched the match from your spot in the audience, praying for your team to win. Things weren't looking so good. You noticed Kageyama getting irritable, knowing his play style was going to be taking a hit from it. You quickly get out your phone.

You: Kageyama's done. He needs a break to cool down. Sub in Koushi

Kiyoko: I'll tell the coaches. Thanks for your input, Y/n

You: Of course. Thanks for being the messenger

You put your phone away, watching as the substitution takes place. Hope fluttered in your chest as you watched the boy you love walk onto the court. You smiled as he happily greeted his teammates, hitting all except Nishinoya, who he high fived.

Oikawa watched the substitution, jealousy surging through him "She looks at him as if he's a god. The blush on her face, I want that to be from me. Instead, she loves mister refreshing over there. I will beat him and make her mine for 4 months."

Sugawara looked over at the other third year setter, sending a glare over to the brunette. "No way am I letting you have Y/n, Oikawa."

The two held intense staring match, and you saw it. You knew Sugawara was going to give it his all to beat Oikawa. A smile spread on your face as you started cheering for the only boy you'll ever love.

"Go, Koushi! You can do it!" You had your hands cupped around your mouth to amplify the sound.

Both Sugawara and Oikawa looked over at you. A smile spread on the silver haired setters face, a frown resting on the brunette's face.

You made eye contact with Sugawara, smiling warmly at him. You feel another pair of eyes, looking over to meet Oikawa's gaze. You saw the brunette setter frowning, yet there was determination in his stare. Sugawara noticed your eyes off of him, turning to look at the setter from across the net. A glare formed on his face as he stared at Oikawa. He wasn't going to give you up, not easily.

The match soon continued, the setters playing against each other. Both boys wanted your affection, and neither wanted to lose this match. There was too much resting in the balance. This match could decide your fate for the summer. Sugawara was planning to gather up the courage to asked you for a date over the summer, but he wouldn't be able to do that if you had to be Oikawa's girlfriend.

But one team ended up being stronger than the other.

When the match ended, you fell to your knees. Your eyes were wide, full of tears. You couldn't believe it. You didn't want to believe it.

The third year setter cheered, knowing he's won. Pride surges through him as he looks up, spotting your defeated form. A smirk spreads on Oikawa's lip. "You're mine now, Y/n-chan."

Sugawara felt all his strength leave him. He collapses to his knees, slowly turning to see the look on your face. It broke his heart when he noticed the tears starting to fall from your eyes.

Karasuno lost. Aoba Johsai had won the match.

Kageyama and Hinata were on the ground, disappointment and sadness flowing through them.

However, the rest of Karasuno don't know what as truly lost from this match. Only Sugawara knew of the bet that revolved around this match. And he was broken inside because of the bet you just lost. He felt it was his fault, that he could've done better. Nothing more could be done about it now.

All of Karasuno met up, your gaze remained on the floor. You couldn't look up at them, not after losing that bet to Oikawa.

Sugawara spoke up, loud enough for everyone to hear. "I'm sorry, Y/n."

Finally, you sobbed. "It's not your fault." You continued to sob.

Coach Ukai sighed. "Look, you may have lost this match, but that's all it was. We can always win the next match we play in."

Sugawara shook his head. "No, it's already too late. Oikawa won what he wanted."

Ukai, Takeda, Kiyoko, and the rest of the guys on the team looked at the third year setter in confusion. They weren't aware of the bet, so they don't know why he's so upset. They had no clue what he meant.

That was, until Oikawa happily walked up to you, wrapping his arms around from behind you. "We won, Y/n-chan~."

"I know." You somehow managed to get the words out.

"That means I won our little bet." He continued, not caring that all of Karasuno was right there to hear him.

You felt your throat was tight, another sob escaping your lips. "I know, Oikawa."

The brunette smirked. "You're my girlfriend until the qualifiers in October now."

Karasuno's eyes went wide. "What?!"

Oikawa looked at them. "Y/n-chan and I made a bet on who would win. She was determined you'd beat me, so what I would've done if she won doesn't matter. Since she lost, from now until the Qualifiers starting in October, she's my girlfriend."

Oikawa gave you a quick kiss on the cheek, then left.

The team turned to you, tears in their eyes.

You couldn't look up at them, your gaze focused on the ground. "You guys did well. I thought you were going to win. Let's go, we have no reason to stay here anymore." You started walking away.

"Y/n..."
