Upon arriving at the first years' floor, you start wondering which of the first years you should visit first. You tried remembering the things Sugawara had told you about these three first years. Based on personality, it might be easier to visit Hinata first. And that was the conclusion you came to.

You walk to Hinata's classroom, being met with a boy that fit the description you were given of the first year boy. "Um, hello. Are you Hinata Shoyo, by any chance?"

Hinata looks at you, his face tinting a light pink color the longer he stared at you. "Y-yes?"

You see how nervous he looks, offering a sweet smile. "I'm L/n Y/n, a second year. Do you mind if I talk to you for a little bit?"

He shakes head. "N-not at all! W-why did you wanna speak with me?"

You sigh, leaning up against a nearby wall. "Your senpai from the volleyball club, Sugawara, talked to me about the team and it got me a little worried about some of the members."

"What did Suga-senpai say?" He looked worried.

You smile at him, hoping you weren't scaring the poor boy. "Nothing too bad. I just heard that some of you first years don't get along. I offered to talk to you, Kageyama, and Tsukishima to work things out. I was hoping to help solve the problem and get you all to get along."

Hinata's eyes widened. "Really? You really wanna do all that?"

You nod. "Of course. Koushi is a childhood friend of mine and I wanted to help him out. So, can you tell me your side of things."

He nods, leaning up against the wall right next to you. "Kageyama and I met at the middle school volleyball tournament in march. When we met again here in high school, we couldn't get along. He's really mean and demanding. He's always yelling at me and trying to tell me that I won't make a good volleyball player, especially since I haven't played as long as the other players."

You frown. "That's harsh. If you put in enough effort, you could become the best player in the world."

Hinata brightened up at that. "Really? You think so?!"

You nod. "Of course. Even if you're not the best right now, Kageyama has no right to degrade you like that. If he can't see that a player has potential, then he needs to work on himself."

He smiles, excitedly nodding at your words. "Exactly! But, we kind of get along now that we play together. He stills yells at me and calls me an idiot, though."

"Don't worry about that, Hinata-kun. I'll be talking with him about it and try getting him to be a bit nicer."

"Wow! If you can do that, it would be the coolest thing to ever happen!"

You chuckle. "I'll be trying my best. So, can you tell me what's been going on with Tsukishima, please?"

Hinata nods, a frown forming on his face. "Tsukishima is really mean. He always makes fun of my height, just because he's so tall. He thinks he's better than us, but clearly doesn't put as much effort into volleyball as the rest of us. He's just a jerk!"

You raise a brow at him. "You don't say mean stuff back to him, right?"

Hinata nods. "I try not to. And I don't think that anything I say will get under his skin. I doubt he cares about anyone or anything."

You hum. "Do you think you can try getting along with Kageyama and Tsukishima?"

He looks over at you. "I can try. Why?"

"Well, it might be better for the team if you all can learn to get along with each other. You guys could all become stronger if you work on connecting with each other, and try getting along well. You could become the best team in the prefecture if you all work well together."

Hinata beams. "I can do that! I mean, I can try, at least."

You smile at him. "You're a really outgoing person, aren't you? You seem easy to get along with, it seems almost impossible that you would have trouble getting along with anyone."

His eyes sparkle. "Thank you! Did you know you're really pretty?"

You giggle. "I've been told. Thank you for the compliment, Hinata-kun. And I really appreciate you agreeing to get onto better terms with your teammates."

"Of course! You're just trying to help us out, right?"

You nod. "That's exactly why I offered to speak with all of you in the first place. I thought I'd make things easier on Koushi by trying to fix the team's problems for him."

Hinata smiles brightly at you. "You're a really good person! Suga-senpai must be a really good friend of yours, huh?"

"Of course. He's been my best friend since we were little. He's been getting busy with volleyball lately, and he finally talked to me about everything that's been going on. I don't like it when he gets stressed or overworked, so I help him out whenever I can."

"That's a good thing. Have you ever thought of joining as a manager for the team? Since you care so much, it would be nice to have you around more often."

You look at him, thinking about his words. "I'll think about it. If you don't mind, I still have to talk with the other two. Maybe we can talk again soon."

Hinata beams. "I'd love to! See you around, L/n-senpai!"

You chuckle at the boy. "You can call me Y/n, if you'd like."

"Thank you, Y/n-senpai! I'll be going now!"

"See ya, Hinata-kun."

You watch as the boy walks into his classroom. You turn away, a smile on your face.

You could see why Sugawara liked to talk about Hinata. You thought the first year was cute, promising to yourself that you'd make time to talk with Hinata again.
