Sugawara sits beside you on the couch, still smiling at you. "Thank you for bringing some of your cookies, Y/n."

"It's no problem."

Mrs. Sugawara stands up, preparing to leave the room. "Well, there are some things I need to do. You two have fun together." She leaves the room.

Sugawara looks at you. "It's been a while since we've spent time together like this, hasn't it?"

You nod. "It has. I'm glad you weren't too busy today, Koushi." You open the container with the cookies, holding it up to offer cookies to the boy.

The silver haired setter gladly takes one of the cookies. "Thank you so much. It feels like it's been forever since I last had any of your sugar cookies. I really need them after the week I've been having."

You tilt your head to one side. "Oh? What's been going on? Does it have something to do with the volleyball club?"

He nods. "The first years don't really get along well with each other. And... I told you about what happened between Nishinoya and Asahi, right?"

You think about it. "Didn't they get into a fight over Asahi losing confidence after you guys lost to Datekyo and Asahi quit the team while Nishinoya is suspended from club activities for acting up in front of the vice principal?"

"Exactly that."

"How's that going?"

Sugawara sighs. "I wish I could tell you it's fine, but I'd be lying through my teeth. Nishinoya won't come back to the team unless Asahi comes back. And Asahi seems more than reluctant to be a part of the team again."

You hum. "I see. Is there anything I can do to help you?"

"I don't think you'd be able to help."

"You don't know that. Maybe I can talk to Asahi and Nishinoya and convince them both to come back to the team. Wouldn't that make things easier for you?"

He looks over at you, pausing from biting the cookie in his hand. "It would. And I think even if Asahi didn't listen, Nishinoya would be happy enough to come back if you talked to him at all."

You smile at him. "Then I'll be talking to your teammates this week."

"Just be careful. Nishinoya is a bit of a handful. He might overwhelm you while you talk to him." He takes a bite of the cookie, humming happily as he eats it.

"I think I can handle that."

Sugawara swallows the bit of cookie that is in his mouth. "Your cookies are as good as ever, Y/n. I already feel better and you didn't even need to offer to help."

"I'm glad I can make you feel better. Now, what's the problem with the first years? How are they not getting along."

Sugawara takes a deep breath. "Kageyama and Hinata never seem to get along, they have this rivalry going on. And Tsukishima refuses to get along with either of them."

"Who?"

"Kageyama is a fairly tall first year with dark blue eyes and blackish hair. Hinata is a short first year, not shorter than Nishinoya, with fluffy orange hair and brown eyes. Tsukishima is a really tall first year with blonde hair and glasses. Hinata is the only one of the three with a kind personality, the other two can be pretty mean. Fights are almost always breaking out between those three."

You look at him eat the cookie in his hand. "I see. Maybe I can try talking to your first years as well. Maybe then, they might get along a bit better."

He nearly chokes on the cookie in his mouth. "I wouldn't do that. Hinata might be the only one that will actually listen to you and not try to scare you off. If anything, he might be speechless because he'll think you're pretty. Tsukishima might be annoyed, and Kageyama probably won't be too happy that a total stranger is trying to get him to get along with people on his team that he dislikes."

"It wouldn't hurt to try, though."

"I've tried plenty of times and they never listen to me."

You think a bit about the situation. "True... that might be a bit problematic. But I still wanna try. It couldn't hurt to at least talk to the members of your team to see if they can improve their teamwork."

Sugawara sighs. "You're not wrong. I just don't want you to get involved if you don't need to."

"But I want to. I'd like to help you out whenever I can."

"I appreciate it. Really, I do. But, at the same time, I really don't want to get you involved with my problems. If I could, I'd deal with it all on my own."

You sigh, not looking at him. "If that's not working, you should be more willing to try new things." You lower your voice to the point where he can barely hear you. "I'd like to be more involved with your life, ya know."

His eyes widened as he heard your quieter statement. "Really? You actually want to be more involved with everything going on in my life?"

You look up at him. "Why else do you think I'd come here after making your favorite cookie? I just want to spend some time with you and feel like I'm still a part of your life."

Sugawara reaches over to pull you into a hug. "I'm sorry if I've been too busy for you. I'll gladly let you do your thing to try helping with the problems my team has been having."
