~1 year time skip~

~(Y/n)'s p.o.v.~

I breathed heavily as I glared down at Zoro who I had pinned to the ground with my foot on his chest, and two of my swords up to his neck. I could see the pride in his eye as I stared into it with my bright blue ones.... How he lost his other one is another story... Just then, the first rays of the new day began to shine through the trees, and I relaxed my stance allowing Zoro to get back up. "The sun's up, (Y/n). You know what that means," he started as he took my extended hand and pulled himself up. "Yeah.... It's finally time for us to go our separate ways. You were a really great sensei Zoro," I admitted.

"Hey now, none of that overthinking now you hear? And you were a good student too," he claimed. I smiled up at him as he ruffled my hair. "Now go. Go stand side by side as an equal with your friends, and take down those that stand in your way," he instructed. I nodded my head, before I began to run off in the direction towards Mihawk's place to wash up and grab my stuff. My training time was up, and it was now time to head back to the Leaf Village. I was excited to see Naruto again, but I was also nervous. Was I really ready to return to the leaf? Was I really strong enough yet?

I had been training all night, so my first order of business was to take a shower to rid my body of the blood, sweat, and dirt I now had practically caked all over my body. Once I finished, I got dressed in my new outfit. My training had been so intense over these two years that I usually tore through most of my clothes before I could do what most normal people do and grow out of them, so when my final order of clothing came in, I set this one outfit aside to ensure I could go home in something nice. This outfit was quite literally fresh out of the bag it had arrived in.

I now sported a black tank top under an orange crop-top vest that had holes in it allowing me to loop my holster for my Wakizashi blade, better known as Dancer, through it. I had black weighted sleeves that started at my hands and stopped halfway up my upper arm, and black gloves hid the beginning of the sleeves. My black shorts stopped just above my knees with an orange wrapping that I used to hold all three of my Katana at my right side; Fang, Kazoku, and Akuma. My weapons pouch was properly tied to my right leg as well. My black sandals turned into black boots that stopped halfway up my lower leg with black weights wrapped around the top.

I went to put my head band on looking at myself in a mirror to make sure I put it on straight when I noticed some of my hair was laying on my shoulders weirdly. I put the headband down and ran my hand through my hair to put it back where I preferred it, however not much of my hair did as I told it to. After brushing it out and parting it into sections I finally figured out the issue. Over the years, there have been many times where I barely dodged an attack from Zoro or Mihawk and my hair always fell victim. Now it was super uneven and extremely choppy. I guess I never noticed because I was too exhausted to even think about what I looked like until today.

"Only one way to fix this," I muttered before I pulled out Dancer and grabbed one section of my hair, I eyeballed it and then cut it off to where all the hair was even again. In the end, my bangs were just above my chin, and the rest of my hair lightly brushed my shoulders. I put on my headband which was now in a black cloth due to the blue one getting merked during training, and fixed my bangs, tossing most of them back and only leaving the shorter ones up front with my side bangs so that my headband was mostly visible.

I smiled at the person in the mirror. I've never had short hair like this before, and honestly it was definitely a look that was growing on me. I walked out of the room, and grabbed the backpack that had the rest of my stuff in it. I walked out to the docks where both Mihawk and Zoro were waiting for me. I smiled at them, as I ran and pulled them both into a hug. "Thank you so much for everything," I admitted.
