there was chaos ensuing all over the place.
luffy had collapsed, whitebeard had clashed with akainu, and kizaru had blasted a hole through luffy's chest. several pirates clashed with several marines, the warlords were going wild across the plains (hancock was the wildest), and [name] was clashing against aokiji with ice shards spreading all over the place. sentomaru and the pacifistas were causing havoc with each step and laser beam they shot.
ivankov clutched luffy, the boy's body trembling in his grasp, blood staining his gloved fingers. and then—
a blinding light tore the space beside him. lucy, wild-eyed and desperate, appeared in a flash of motion, dropping to her knees to catch [name] as she fell, her figure battered, trembling like a leaf in the wind.
"[n-name]–girl!" her voice cracked, overwhelmed by horror.
[name] had gone up against an admiral—directly. against aokiji. and now, frostbite spread like a curse over her skin, delicate and deadly. her lips were tinged with blue, eyes barely able to stay open.
lucy laid [name] down on the ground beside luffy, just near the wall where ivankov had jumped down after enlarging his face to peek over it like some kind of stalker, "what happened to her?! d-don't tell me...!"
lucy panted, "it's already amazing enough she lasted against the admirals all by herself. but it was too much! just earlier...her muscles were torn apart from the inside and she sprouted blood, and aokiji took that chance!"
ivankov's breath hitched. h-her movements...don't tell me...she wore the energy hormone off?! that's crazy! it wears off after an entire day!
and yet, her body—her bizarre, unpredictable body—had failed her once again. or perhaps, it had simply protected her too long.
no one, not even she herself, could ever understand how it functioned. either in her favor or against her...and right now, it was a case of both.
"open the path to ace!!" the whitebeard pirates roared in defiance, fury in their eyes as they cut down a pacifista in under thirty seconds. "this is the power of the new world!"
luffy groans, eyes flickering to see a horrid sight of his pillar lying beside him on her chest taking heavy breaths - instantly, a broken sound caught in his throat. he wasn't the only one to have taken damage...she took more damage than he had.
