[ i want her back ]

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

[name]'s eyes have a hazy mist covering them when she tried to open them up. there was a struggle to breathe and an instant strike of pain shooting all over her body, but before she could let herself emit the flames, she makes her mind go blank.

something...no...someone was working over her body.

looking over, she took noticed of one familiar face, and one new face.

caelus.

and...who?

he was a slim young man of a very tall height, and had faint shadows right under his yellow eyes that seemed to be heavy bags to indicate how he wasn't a good sleeper. only unlike her, his face showed it. he was wearing anorthern-style fur hat with was white and had a spotted pattern along the bottom and the bill. while he had short dark black hair, a majority of it was obscured by his hat, save for his sideburns and a small goatee. he even had a beard, not that she cared.

"awake, [name]?"

she weakly said his name, "...caelus?"

"that's right." she tried to get up, but someone's hand pushed her back down.

it was the man with the weird hat.

"i wouldn't recommend you to move right now," he told her, his hazy eyes staring into her weak ones, "you've suffered quite a lot of damage."

"w-where..." even her throat burned, but she forced a voice out of her, "where is he? my captain, where is-"

"[name], calm down, your breathing is labored."

caelus pushed her down by her chest where her lungs where, pressing down on a certain spot that made her back drop back onto the soft mattress with a bounce. she tried her best to do as told, since she knew caelus understood why she was desperate to get up and find her captain.

"straw hat luffy, right?" [name] gave him a soft nod, "i finished operating on him a few hours ago. i was able to get him stable, but he isn't out of danger yet. there's still a multitude of things that could go wrong, but the best thing for him is to get as much rest as possible. he's in a coma right now; hooked up to all kinds of machines to keep him breathing, blood pumping, and nutrients entering his body. i've never seen someone that injured and still clinging to his life."

so he was alive?

all of a sudden, a breath of exasperation falls out of her mouth, more relaxed than ever before.
