How do you explain the devastation that was caused by one man and the few followers he had left? Once Sean ensured that Boneparte was, in fact, dead, he helped you up from the bed and lead you out of the bedroom, only to be horrified by the body count that laid before you both. A mix of Black Claw and your own men dead at your feet. Sean held you close as you both made your way down the stairs.

"This is bad, Sean," you whispered out as you saw the amount of destruction in your home.

Not only were there dead bodies, but the inside of your home was destroyed by bullets. Glass shards, splintered wood, and broken furniture and windows littered your home. There was a noise from the back of the house. Sean quickly pulled his gun out, aiming towards the back as he moved you behind him. Once the figure stepped into the light, you gasped as you ran over, throwing your arms around your brother's neck.

"Nick!" you said as you hugged him tight. He pulled away, his hands on your arms and looking you up and down.

"Are you alright?" he asked.

You nodded. "We're both fine. Where's Adalind?"

"After we left you two in your room, I sent her to the loft to go on lockdown until we were able to locate Boneparte. She barely made it there before everything fell apart here," he replied.

"What exactly happened here?" Sean asked.

Nick gestured behind him, "We need to get the two of you to safety before we talk. I've got men combing over the property to make sure none of Black Claw is still out there."

Sean placed his arm around your waist, keeping you close to him as you both followed Nick out, carefully stepping over bodies and debris. When you stepped out towards what was once your backyard, you gasped. Everything was charred. Tears filled your eyes as you saw the remnants of Marie's swing set.

"What happened?" you asked in shock.

"Damonfeuer," Nick responded.

"Are you serious?" asked Sean in surprise.

Nick nodded, "Fire breathing Wesen. Like having to slay a dragon to save the damsel."

You rolled your eyes at your brother as you held on to Sean tighter. A good chunk of your property was destroyed.

"How did we not hear any of this?" you asked as Sean helped you step over a destroyed tree.

"Yours and Marie's bedrooms are reinforced for emergencies," Nick replied. "I thought you knew that?"

You raised an eyebrow, "Seriously?"

Sean shrugged, "Made sense for us to do that after everything that has happened to us over the years. That way, if we were attacked in the middle of the night, you and Marie would at least be safe."

You continued to follow your brother until you reached the hidden doorway that led to the tunnel, the same that Meisner had used to lead Marie away to safety. Once you and Sean stepped through the doorway, Nick secured it, flipping a switch that turned on lights that showed the infinite dark void of the tunnel.

"Where exactly are we going?" You asked as you followed Nick.

"There's a reason I chose the house I did for us," replied Sean. "It was in the works for a while. Meisner and his men, along with Alexander and other loyal Wesen, created these tunnels that lead to a secure facility from our home. It's essentially our security's headquarters."

"My loft is also connected to these tunnels. It's how Adalind was able to get out safely," replied Nick.

You looked up at Sean and back towards your brother. "And you two didn't feel the need to fill me in on this? Seriously?" You huffed as you pulled away from Sean, crossing your arms. "I'm tired of everyone keeping me out of the loop with everything. When will you all learn that I'm not fragile? Don't you think it would have been a good idea to tell me all of this? What if I was home alone with Marie and we needed an out?"
