Chapter 9 - A Grimm's Friend

Things between you and Sean continued to grow as the weeks went by. You were finding it hard to keep your relationship a secret, especially at work and around Nick. Monroe begged you to tell Nick the truth, but you just weren't sure how to bring it up. You were scared how Nick would react, finding out that his boss was one, a Wesen, two, the Zauberbiest you were mated with, and three, that his boss knew he was a Grimm.

"The longer you wait, the harder it's going to be," Monroe said one morning during breakfast.

You sighed as you placed your dish in the sink. "I know Monroe, but I don't know how to tell him! He acts like I'm so fragile. I'm a Grimm! I think I can handle myself."

Monroe walked over, handing you your coffee cup. "He's your brother. He loves you, and once he realizes how happy you are, maybe he'll be able to look past the whole Zauberbiest thing?" Monroe furrowed his brows, "Wait, you are happy, right? I don't need to beat the Captain up, do I?"

You laughed as you grabbed your bag, "Yes, Monroe. I'm very happy."

"Good!" You heard Monroe call out as you walked to the front door. "Because I'd fight him if I had to!"

As you walked to your car, your phone rang. Glancing down, you smiled when you saw Juliette's name pop up.

"Juliette! Hey!"

"Hey (Y/N), I feel like I haven't talked to you in ages."

You laughed, "I know. Work has been crazy busy."

You heard her scoff on the other end, "Tell me about it. I feel like I hardly see Nick. Say, are you busy tonight?"

You shook your head to yourself, "No, why what's up?"

"Well," Juliette responded, "I was wondering if you would like to hang out tonight? We can catch up?"

You smiled, "I would love that Juliette!"

"Perfect! Meet me at the house when you get off work."

You were settling in at work, pulling files on your desk that needed your attention when Sean sat at the edge of your desk. You glanced up at him, seeing him smirking down at you.

"What's that look for?" you asked.

"Got any big plans tonight?"

You smiled, "Actually I do. Juliette called me this morning and asked if I would like to have a girl's night."

Sean raised an eyebrow. "What are you doing after?"

You slyly smiled. "I don't know. Why?"

"I wanted to see if you would like to come over tonight?"

"Hmm," you responded. "I'd have to make sure it's ok with my boyfriend."

Sean looked at you with a smug look. "Boyfriend, huh?"

You nodded your head. Sean glanced over as he saw Nick making his way towards your desk. You could tell he was biting his tongue from saying anything else that Nick might overhear. He just smirked at you as he walked back into his office, discreetly running his hand along your arm, giving you goosebumps. When Nick got to your desk, he sat down in the chair at the side of your workstation.

"I have something awkward to ask of you," he said as he leaned in.

You squinted your eyes at your brother with skepticism. "Um, ok?"

"Your shop in Seattle. Wasn't your business partner's name Rosalee Calvert?"

You furrowed your brows at your brother, "Yeah, why?"
