"Gramps approved of your idea, Nagi!"
Her orange eyes widened. There's no way it actually passed through.
"W-Wait, are you serious??" 3 questioned pressing her ear up against the phone more as if to make sure she heard it correctly. "The Cap'n really approved of it??"

"...I want to bring something up to you two. It's just a suggestion, but hopefully we can implement it," 3 started, her nervous voice still recovering from her previous feelings of embarrassment.
The inkling cousins, caught a little off guard from 3's sudden demeanor switch, took a quick glance at each other. Where Nagi was going with this was a complete mystery to the two.
The inkling glanced around, as if making sure the octoling's presence wasn't near. It wasn't, and after a gentle yet chilling breeze swept through the Canyon, her orange eyes seemed to burn up with determination.
"Rather than fighting and splatting the Octarian soldiers," 3 started, her grip on her Hero Shot increasing. "..What if we try to break them free from the influence they're under?"
Both 1 and 2's eyes widened at the statement. While yes, it has been thought of to do something regarding that matter, no ideas have been created to efficiently and safely do such a thing without losing the lives of any of the agents in the Squidbeak Splatoon. The only thing they had come up with was forcefully removing the goggles they wore, though of course, such a thing wouldn't come without conflict. Plus, it's uncommon to see Octarian forces going out on their own, with the only real exception being the one Nagi had encountered talking about 'the Promised Land.'
Actually, that was a lie. That octoling was accompanied by another as well.
"Hmm..." Marie pondered to herself, shutting her eyes and rubbing her chin. "...It's not a bad idea of course, but there's just so much to it one has to think about...How are we breaking them free in the first place? What do we do after? Are we just going to just throw them into inkling society without teaching them a thing?"
3's jaw tightened. Marie was right. Although the answers were obvious about what they wanted to do and what the end goal was, it was much easier to say those things than actually thinking about the hows. Doing it by force would be out of the question, as it most likely would result in injury or being splatted.
"Is this because of Nova, 3?" Callie smiled, swinging her legs off of the Cuttlefish Cabin porch ledge.
With a hint of pink on her cheeks, Nagi gave her nod and her mind seemed to bring up Nova's words out of nowhere.
"I..I'm glad I had the opportunity to live here in Inkopolis, even though it was hard to get to this point. I believe that they have the right to live a normal life just as much as I do, though I hardly doubt that they will have the same opportunity."
3 blinked, "He's mentioned it a couple times...how he feels that they deserve to live a normal life as well. Plus, I'm sure he feels alone being one of two known octolings here in Inkopolis."
Marie, taking a seat next to her cousin, sighed contently, "They do, and when you see Marina and Nova, it makes you think that all the more. But..what made them break free in the first place? If we can figure that out, it'll be a step forward."
The question left both Agent 1 and 3 perplexed, thinking thoroughly. They were rarely able to see Marina, as her job as an idol in Off the Hook took up the majority of her time, and, as a result, haven't been able to get much information out of her regarding that topic.
