Hey!
I'd like to start off by saying the following:
If you're reading this now, and read every chapter beforehand from start to finish, and copied the entire story in a Google Doc without changing the format, you have just read:
37 chapters (technically 38, but it was numbered 26.5).
A whopping total of 150,075 words.
546 (Google Doc) pages.
Damn, you guys are better than me.
Anyways, this has definitely been my longest work yet, probably more so than a few stories combined on my old account, and I'm proud of how it turned out. I'm glad that I was able to create something that so many people were able to sit down, spend their time on, and enjoy.
I'd like to thank all of you for joining me on this journey, both in writing and in life. For your continued support and love. It really motivated me to finish this story at times when I had zero motivation.
So much has happened since I started writing Adjust. I was in my senior year of high school when I started.
Applied to colleges to study architecture.
Struggled in coding class.
Graduated high school.
Couldn't afford to go to the school I wanted.
Forced to go into community college as a last minute decision, dealt with isolation until I found out my best friend and I had the same engineering physics class.
Flunked engineering physics.
With that same friend, had begun typing up a concept of a story for a future webcomic. 3 Google Docs, and 2 Excel sheets at the moment.
I ended up changing my major to accounting.
Had midterms and finals.
Went on several vacations, both with family and friends.
I've made friends, lost friends, kept in touch with aquaintances and lost contact with others.
Got a PS5 for Christmas and got obsessed with Elden Ring.
Got promoted at my job.
My girlfriend and I will be hitting 6 years together this December (sort of reflected through Agent's 3 and 8 lol).
Literally just got hit with midterms a few days prior to uploading this.
Opened a savings account and got my first credit card.
What I'm trying to say is that life throws a lot of crap your way, whether it's good things or bad things. What's important is that you hold those good things close to you, keep those happy memories, cherish those around you so that when you're going through the lows of life, you have someone to lean on, you have something to keep you going and eventually prevail, and come out stronger than you were before.
As I'm growing older, it gets tough. There are so many things to worry about now at once, and it can feel overwhelming. Whether you're in the same boat or not, just know the following:
You got this.
It'll all work out.
I say this not just for you guys, but as a reminder for me as well. It's easy to forget, and hard to believe, especially in those rough moments, but it's true.
Once again, thank you for the continued support throughout this story. It truly means a lot. Not sure when my next work will be, or what it'll be about, but I hope you'll be there for it.
A million thanks.
Much love,
GoingDark_
