A/N: LOOOOOOOOOOONG chapter

-Dick POV-

"Good thing I already died then," Nico said, his voice laced with the familiar Lazarus sharpness.

Dick opened his mouth to say something, say anything, but Nico was gone before any sound could leave his mouth. The room was silent, the ghost of Nico's words seeming to fill the air.

Clark opened his mouth to speak, but Batman turned from the table, after grabbing Nico's discarded mask, and walked off; the zeta tube announcing his departure.

Nightwing clinched his jaw before looking to Clark. "I'm Bruce's official proxy should the need arise. I can stand in for him if you need to take a vote."

Canary cleared her throat. "I motion for the League's official statement to reflect what Ghost King proposed. Call him a vigilante with no connection to the League who acted of his own volition."

"Vigilanteism outside of the League is illegal in Texas. What will we do if law enforcement attempts to go after him?"

"I doubt they will. Meta Trafficking is a hot topic right now in the media and Texan Law Makers will not want to risk taking a stand against someone who brought down a Trafficking Ring that was right under their noses."

"I second the motion," Icon said.

Clark let out a sigh. "All those in favor?"

The room echoed with 'aye's until only Dick was left.

Dick swallowed the lump that had formed in his throat. "Aye."

Super Man nodded to him. "It's unanimous. Ghost King will be named as an unaffiliated vigilante. Catherine Cobert will release a statement and hold a press conference tomorrow. Are there any other matters up for discussion?"

"I would like to place a temporary prohibition on Ghost King's interactions with the Team."

"Canary-" Dick began to say, but the woman just held up a hand to stop him.

"I am not proposing that he be banned from the mountain, only that he no longer be allowed on missions for the time being. Yes, he is a powerful ally to have, however it is clear to me that he is not stable enough to go on missions. Additionally, we cannot risk him being seen with the League's proteges so soon after declaring him a lone vigilante."

Superman looked from Canary to Dick for a moment before pursing his lips. "I believe that decision should be made by the senior members of the team."

Dick looked to his friends, silently begging them not to do it. He knew that it was probably a smart plan, Nico should not be going on missions in his current mental state, but he didn't need one more thing to drive him away.

"I second the motion," Artemis said with an apologetic look, before continuing. "with the added stipulation that it be reassessed after one month."

They took a vote. 3 to 2 in favor of temporary probation for Nico.

"If that is all..." Clark looked around the room, seeing if anyone else had anything to discuss. "Then meeting adjured."

Dick walking off into the zeta tube, actively dodging Black Canary and his teammates, both of whom looked like they needed to talk to him. He stepped into the cave and immediately saw Bruce on the computer. One look at Jason, who was doing maintenance on his bike, and he could tell that he shouldn't interact. The second oldest set down his tools and nodded for Dick to follow him upstairs.

As the two stepped out from the passage behind the clock, Jason ran a hand through his hair. "It went terribly, didn't it."

Dick let out a humorless laugh. "I'm surprised Tim didn't have you all listening in."
