A/N: this one is very short, but I just got back to my house and I'm tired

-Hazel POV-

Hazel was exhausted. She had been getting better at shadow travel over the past year, but she was nowhere near her bothers level. She had already made 9 trips to and from the battlefield and felt ready to collapse.

Kids went first, then the injured, then the elderly, then everyone else. That was what she had to keep telling herself. She couldn't take them all at once, so she forced herself to stick to the rules.

Hazel had just come back from her 10th drop when she heard steps coming from the entrance. She instantly drew her sword and stood between the civilians and whoever might be coming.

"Don't attack," a familiar voice called as four figures came through the doorway, one of them being propped up by the others.

Hazel instantly surged forward and wrapped them all in a hug. "Thank gods."

Will did his best to give a quick hug back before pulling away and lowering his charge to the ground, leaning her against a wall.

"Oh shit, are you okay?" Hazel asked, kneeling down next to Reyna.

"I'm fine. I can keep-"

Will rolled his eyes. "No you're not. She was stabbed in the gut. She's be fine, but she can't keep fighting."

Reyna glared at him, causing Jason and Rach to laugh, earning them a glare as well.

Hazel nodded. "I need to get the rest of the civilians out, but then I can-"

Rapid gunfire sounded from outside.

"Who are they shooting at?" a civilian girl who looked to be no older than 16 asked. "There are a lot of bombs, but not much gunfire."

The demigods shared a look because they knew who they were firing at. Chances were that they were firing at someone on their team.

"Don't worry about it," Hazel said in what she hoped was a calming voice. "I'm gonna get you all out of here. I just need a moment to get my strength back."

"I'll help," Reyna said, pushing herself to stand up. Will tried to stop her, but she got up anyways. "If I can't fight, then I'll make sure Ha- I mean, Gem, doesn't run out of energy."

Hazel stared at her for a moment, unsure if she should accept the help, before she nodded. "Okay, but you have to help me if you start feeling lightheaded or anything. Okay?"

Reyna nodded.

Hazel looked to the 16 year old girl. "You're next."

"No, take him first," she said, pointing to a man in the corner who had a bleeding shoulder. "His wife and kids were already taken out. He needs to be with them."

Hazel hesitated before nodding and gesturing for the man to come over. As she grabbed the man's arm and Reyna grabbed onto her, there were more sounds coming from the door.

Hazel dropped her grip on him and had her sword out once again.

The second the person came into view, Will was rushing forward.

"Scope," he said as he hugged her, inadvertently hugging the child in her arms as well.

Piper hugged back. "Thank the gods you're here. GK was worried."

Will pulled back. "Where is he?"

Piper set the child she was holding down. "He drew the shooter's attention so that we could get here."

Hazel felt her stomach fill with led. "Is he okay?"

"I don't know. I didn't hear him get hit or anything, but it's loud out there," she said, giving a quick hug to the rest of the demigods in the room.

Jason scanned the room, looking at all the civilians, before looking back to his teammates. "Gem, get these two kids out first, then take the guy. I'm gonna go see if I can find GK and help him. Do you know where he ran?"

Piper shook her head. "No clue. We came from 8 o'clock."

Jason nodded. "I'll figure it out. Scope, Red, and Surgeon, stay will the civilians and keep them safe."

They nodded.

Hazel walked up to the two children Piper had brought and offered them both a hand, pulling them close before Reyna grabbed onto her as well. She felt the gifted strength from Reyna flowing through her before pulling them all with her into the shadows and towards safety.
