A/N: tis also short, but I have writers block so...
Nico was pacing the Apollo cabin. Will was back at camp for the weekend to help out and a kid fell off a pegasus, so he was rudely busy.
"Why are you in here?" Kayla said as she walked in with Austin. "You're gonna scare Gracie, Jerry, Yan, John and Victoria with all the glaring you're doing."
Nico stopped his pacing and glared at Kayla. "Is Will almost done in the infirmary?"
Yan yawned in their bed as they checked their watch. "His shift was done half an hour ago— wait, if we're all in here, then who's taking over for Will?"
Kayla seemed to pause for a minute before looking to Austin who just shrugged.
Gracie, the youngest, rolled her eyes. "Mitchel from CabinTen is. Will has been training him for like a year."
Everyone 'oooooh'ed as the youngest just scoffed.
"He lets a non-Apollo kid run the infirmary, but he won't even let me heal on my own," she muttered to herself.
"That's cause you're 7 and are still learning," Jerry said from his bunk, flipping through a magazine.
"Yeah, but I can totally heal on my own," she muttered to herself. "Plus, I won't get any better unless I'm actually allowed to practice on real people."
Nico, his anger temporarily forgotten, looked at the young girl for a moment before turning to Kayla. "Kay, can you do me a favor real fast?"
"What's the favor?" She asked skeptically.
"Can you stab me real quick?" He asked.
He expected her to ask why ,or if he was sure, or anything like that, but instead she just pulled out a knife and stabbing him in the leg.
Nico grit his teeth for a second before taking a deep breath and sitting in a chair. He looked at the youngest girl, who looked exceedingly confused, and gestured to his leg.
"You said you wanted to practice."
The girl's confusion immediately turned into a beaming smile as she grabbed her med bag and rushed over. Gracie was damn near giddy as she began cleaning the wound and quietly singing the healing hymn.
Nico smiled softly at the girl as she worked before turning his attention back to Kayla and Austin. "So, do you know when Will is gonna be back?"
Austin spoke before Kayla could. "There is something deeply wrong with both of you."
"Don't doctors have to take an oath to do no harm?" Victoria added on.
Kayla shrugged. "Legally, I'm not a doctor. Plus, I didn't hit any vital points. That's just a flesh wound."
Nico nodded. "It's not like she stabbed me in the chest or something. I've been stabbed a lot, this is barely anything."
The entirety of the cabin, excluding Kayla and Gracie, looked at him like he was crazy, but he just shrugged it off.
"To answer your question though, I have no clue when Will will be back. Why do you need him?"
"I got a summons from Kaldur," he said, remembering his annoyance.
Kayla raised an eyebrow. "Since when do you hate Kaldur? I thought you looked up to him or something."
"It ties into why I'm pissed with Bruce, Dick, Diana, and M'gann, but I promised I wouldn't tell anyone, so now I'm just silently angry."
"But you were gonna tell Will?" Austin asked, sitting next to Gracie to make sure she was doing it right.
Nico shrugged. "Promising not to tell anybody doesn't count towards partners unless specified. They didn't specify, so I'm going to rant to Will."
Yan nodded. "If they didn't want Will to know, they would have specified."
Nico pointed to Yan. "See, they get it."
Austin laughed as he sat down on his bed. "He should be back soon."
Nico nodded, looking down at his leg that Gracie was still focused on. It looked almost completely healed. "You're going amazing," he said with a soft smile. "I think you're more than ready to start working in the infirmary."
Gracie smiled prodding at the praise. "Tell my stupid brother that then."
The door opened at that moment and in walked Will. "Which brother?"
Nico snorted. "You."
Will tossed his jacket onto his bed. "And why and I stup-" his eyes finally landed on Nico. "Why is our 7 year old little sister healing your leg."
"I stabbed him."
"Kayla!" Will exclaimed in horror.
Nico waved him off. "It's fine, I asked her to."
Will just stared at him. "Why in your father's name would you do that?"
Nico shrugged. "Gracie said she needed to practice on real people, so I'm just helping her out. She's doing great, by the way. I think she's ready for the infirmary."
Will came up to him, kneeling down next to his little sister and examining what she was doing. He rested a hand on Nico's knee, glowing slightly as he checked her work, and then nodded with a bright smile towards the little girl. "You did amazing Gracie."
The girl smiled brightly. "Good enough for my own solo shifts?"
"Good enough for one of us to shadow you on a shift," Will corrected, but the girl still tackled him in a hug, muttering 'thank you's before sprinting out of the room to tell her friends. Will shook his head with a laugh before crossing to Nico and kissing his hairline. "You are very sweet... and also stupid."
Nico smiled up at him.
Gods, he thought to himself. I love him.
