-Dick POV-

The house had gained a weird energy since Nico returned. Most of the demigods from camp had left, same this with the extended members of the Batfam, the superboys, and Arsenal. Reyna and Frank had to leave as well considering they were Praetors and had a camp to run. Percy and Annabeth didn't want to leave, but Nico said they had to get back to university considering they had already missed too much class. Leo and Calypso also had to leave since Nico said they were DGs and it was more important for them to be at their shop than fawning over him. Nico just kept finding reasons to send people away until all that were left was the Waynes, Cass, Steph, Duke, Will, Hazel, and Kayla.

Even with the Manor quite a bit emptier than it had been in recent days, it was still a lot. Nico had been moved to his room a day after waking up while everyone was 'asleep'. No one was actually sleeping, but Nico didn't want to see anyone, so they stayed in their rooms while he was in the hall. Alfred had turned off all the lights on the way to his room, even going as far to put blackout curtains over the windows they would pass.

Will had begged Bruce to ask Nico to at least let him or Kay go and heal him, but their father said it wasn't the right time. Nico became debilitated when he saw any light and the man said that it wouldn't be a good idea to find out if that extended to Will's powers yet. Even Kayla, who wasn't a human glowing stick, radiated some light when healing. Nice wasn't okay, but if he realized that he was scared of his own boyfriend, then it might break him completely.

Bruce had gotten Nico to agree to take a few days to recover, but it was very begrudgingly. Nico didn't want to be there, but more than anything else, he didn't want to be alone. Bruce and Alfred had been staying with him in shifts, the only other one allowed in was Hazel, and it was only for a few minutes.

"Dick," Bruce's voice called from the other side of his door.

Dick quickly rushed over to open it. "What's wrong? I thought you were supposed to be with Nico, did something happen?"

"Nico's fine," Bruce said, instantly calming Dick down. "Kaldur called me for an emergency meeting, so I have to leave for about an hour. Alfred is with Nico now, but I can tell he's exhausted. Nico told him that he'd be fine for an hour, but Alfie is refusing to let him be alone."

"Okay, so... am I going to the meeting for you?" Dick asked, honestly not understanding what Bruce was getting at.

"Nico asked for you to sit with him while I'm gone," Bruce said, looking stressed. He looked like the father of an infant who was about to leave his baby with a sitter.

Dick's eyes widened slightly. "Oh, okay— yeah. I um... yeah, let me just grab my phone."

Bruce shook his head. "The light," he said with an apologetic look.

Dick nodded. "Gotcha, that makes sense."

"I gave my phone to Alfred so he could let me know if something happened that I needed to see."

Dick nodded. "Okay, I'll give it to Jace. I'll tag Alfie out in a minute."

Bruce gave a thankful nod before turning and walking away down the hall.

Dick took a deep breath before grabbing his phone off his bed and going to Jay's room, knocking on the door. He heard a 'come in' and stepped into the room.

"Hey, Bruce has to step out and asked me to take over for Alfred so he can get some rest," Dick said as he ran a hand through his hair. "I can't bring my phone in, so can you keep an eye on it and make sure I didn't miss anything important?"
