-Bruce POV-
Bruce stood among a small army of children and he really had to wonder what his life had become. He was so happy to be where he was— but if you had told him even a year ago that he would one day lead a group of demigods, all between the ages of like 8 and 19, into battle; he would have had a heart attack.
Chiron came trotting up to the two groups, Bruce's group being noticeably bigger, and stomped in order to get everyone's attention. A hush fell over the group, thoroughly impressing Bruce with the centaur's ability to make the kids actually listen to him.
"Attention everyone! I have talked to both sides and come to an agreement over weapons. Considering this is our first ever game of capture the flag with mortals, we have decided to adjust the rules. The mortals have all agreed to act as if your weapons have an effect on them, should you make contact. They have all been outfitted with celestial bronze weapons that they can wield, courtesy of Leo and Nico, but we will not be giving you weapons that can hurt mortals." He was cut off my Clarisse cursing, but Chiron just moved on. "Because they cannot use godly foods to heal like you can, we decided it is a good idea to limit excessive injuries. If you truly wish to cause physical damage, you will simply have to fight without weapons."
Bart raised his hand. "What about those of us who might not be able to use the godly food stuff, but can still be impaled?"
Chiron shrugged. "Try not to be impaled."
Bart looked like he wanted to ask a follow up, but Juliet stepped forward and crossed her arms. "Let's get to the coin toss already."
Chiron nodded before pulling out a drachma. "Since blue team won last game, they get to call it in the air."
Bruce nodded before the coin flew in the air and he called out, "tails."
Chiron caught the coin before revealing that it was heads. "Red team gets first pick."
Juliet didn't move, still staring him down, while her councilors whispered in her ears. After a few moments she put a hand up to stop them before she spoke. "We'll take the east side."
Bruce kept his face neutral, but he immediately knew something was up. He had been told about the curse the campers believed that side had, so why would they willing choose it?
"Red team has 10 minutes to prepare themselves before your set up time starts. You have 10 minutes before the conch blows and blue team goes into their half. No one is allowed over the boarders until the second conch, signaling the start of the game. Everyone understand?"
Bruce nodded, Delilah doing the same, before the man reached out to shake her hand. "I wish your team luck."
Delilah shook his hand firmly. "You may have the Victory twins on your team, but Nike is still on our side."
