A/N: okay so I always hated when there is like a whole ass song in a chapter... but then I had a fun idea so... yeah. Also, this chapter is a little shorter than usual
By the time Campfire started, the official alliance lists had already been turned in and approved.
"Hey, Nico," Juliet said as she came jogging over to the Italian. "Mr.D announced that Olympus gave their approval to let the campers sleep in different cabins for the night, so I was thinking we could have a big sleepover. Do you think your father would be chill if we used your cabin?"
Nico thought about it for a second before he shrugged. "I think it would be fine, though will everyone fit?"
Juliet smirked. "Leo said he has collapsible bunk beds he can bring."
Nico gave her a nod before continuing to the bonfire while she ran off. He took a seat next to his brothers, who where all mesmerized by the golden flames, before Will came over and sat on the ground in from on him, using the Italian's knees as a backrest.
Nico played with the hair at the nape of Will's neck as he listened to the others children of Apollo sing 'Down by the Aegean'. Everything felt right. He had his family, his friends, and his boyfriend, all in the place he called home. Nothing could ruin it...
And then the song ended.
Usually there was a slight intermission between songs while they debated what to sing next, but this time he heard a squeal from his left as an 18 year old girl jogged over to Austin, who was leading the sing along, and whispered in his ear.
"Oh no," Nico said as he realized what was happening.
Will turned to look at him, a smile on his face as he too realized. "Oh yes."
"What's happening?" Damian asked, looking between the two teens and the gaggle of Apollo children as they seemed to be readying their instruments.
Before Nico could even answer or run away, Chiara Benvenuti, daughter of Tyche and Italian native, stood on a log, Gio joining her as well, as she silenced the group.
"Hello everybody!" She yelled, drawing their attention. "Since it's pretty rare that we get special guests at camp, and even rarer when they are Nico's mortal family, I thought we could do something special."
Nico tried to get up to run away, but Clarisse grabbed his shoulders, keeping him place. "You're in on this?!" Nico hissed, offended at the betrayal.
The girl just smirked before turning her attention back to the two Italians on the log.
"As the designated Italians of the camp, we thought it would be fun if all three of us sang a song from our homeland," Gio said with a beaming smile as he stared directly at Nico.
All the campers looked to him, causing him to cease in his attempts at getting out of Clarisse's grip. "Hehe, you know I would, but I don't really know any songs that aren't from like the 1930s, so I guess we can't-"
Nico was cut off by a familiar tune coming from the instruments. Immediately the lyrics came pouring into his head, memories flooding in with them.
"Oh, you know the song," Chiara said as he hoped off the log, slowly walking towards Nico as she and Gio began to sing. "Una mattina mi son svegliato."
"O bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao," the Apollo kids chorused, rising from the logs they were sitting on.
Nico was pulled up from his sitting position and shoved towards Chiara.
"Una mattina mi son svegliato, Eo ho trovato l'invasor," she sang at him, throwing an arm over his shoulder, Gio doing the same on his other side.
