A/N: I slept like a baby last night and also this chapter is short lol. Also, the pic has nothing to do with the chapter, I just really like this artist

Nico, despite not being a son of Poseidon, felt like he should have been named an honorary 'Earth Shaker' after what he had just done.

He stepped out of the shadows and into what looked like a training room. He knew he needed to get their attention, and he needed to hold it, so what did he do?

Correct, he opened a big ass chasm in the center of the room. The foundation split and the entire compound shook. Nico raised his sword and muttered the familiar phrase as black fog began filling the air and the lights went out.

"Serve me."

As if on cue, the guards burst into the room at the perfect moment as his undead soldiers raided from the fog. In an instant, the room was filled with the sounds of gunshots and fighting.

Nico stood by his crater, eyes tracking the battle. The good news? The guards weren't metas. The bad news? The big bad bossman showed up.

Immediately, he only had eyes for Nico. He walked through the battle, dodging the skeletons until he had reached the opposite side of the chasm.

"There you are," he said with a dark smile. "I was starting to think you ran away."

Nico stabbed his sword into the ground before grabbing his knives. He didn't say a thing. He could tell that this guy was one of those chatty villains and if he was honest, he really wasn't in the mood for it after being around a bunch of chatty teen heroes for the last few days.

The bossman jumped across the chasm and the fight was on. The man had pulled out two knives of his own and they began their dance. Blow for blow, neither could land a hit. It was as if they had the exact same skill level. No matter how many tricks Nico pull out, the man matched each one.

"Getting frustrated?" The Boss man said with a smirk, ducking under one of Nico's attacks. "Looks like someone came in unprepared."

Nico mentally rolled his eyes.

"They call me Clone," the man said, lunging at the demigod before tucking into a roll after he only met air. "I am a legend among the Shadows. If I can see it, I can do it."

Nico let his surprise take over for only a millisecond, but it was enough. The man got a shallow slice across Nico's leg, right above where his prosthetic began.

"The Shadows?" Nico said, sounding unimpressed. "Huh, so thats who you're working for."

The man looked pissed, apparently only then realizing that he was fully giving away information.

"Come on, let me see those famous powers of yours," Clone said, landing another slash across Nico's forearm. "I want to see what you can do."

Was that exact moment a bad time to test if meta's could copy demigod powers? Yes. It was, in fact, a terrible idea that would most likely end horribly... so of course Nico did it.

Nico threw one of his knives at Clone, using the fact that he was distracted dodging it to slash him in the side. He took his freehand and made a fist, pulling it upwards as a black stalagmite shot out of the earth, right under Clone's feet.

The man fell, but smirked as he copied the hand motion Nico had done, only for nothing to happen. The man froze in surprise for a moment before shooting to his feet with new anger.

"What was that?" He yelled. "What did you do?"

Nico took advantage of the man's rage, using it against him as Clone's attacks became messier. "What's wrong? I thought you were famous among the Shadows?"

The man kept pressing on in his attacks, despite the fact that Nico had begun landing more and more hits.

Nico faked a retreat before stepping in and hooking his metal leg behind one of Clones and buckled his knee, forcing him to fall backwards. As he fell, Nico grabbed his shoulder and pushed them both into the shadows before letting them fall from a shadow on the ceiling, the impact, paired with the feeling that came with shadow travel, made the man gasp for breath. Nico stood up while the man stayed down.

"Hate to tell you, but you need to be famous among a different  type of shadow in order to impress me," he said with a smirk before winding back and kicking him in the head, knocking him out.

Nico looked around him, the battle between the skeletons and guards still underway, but his forces were winning. As he caught his breath, he clicked his comm.

"Static, how is the evacuation?"

"Almost have everyone out."

Nico confirmed that he had heard him before switching channels to Caly's.

"Titaness, Team 5 is ready for League intervention."

"Slight problem with that," Caly said, sounding stressed. "The base you're at is in Budapest. Hungry has laws that prevent the League from crossing the boarders unless the government has given permission."

Nico cursed, dodging and knocking out a guard that had somehow managed to get through the mob of undead soldier. "How the hell did we not know about this?"

"We finalized the plans for the missions two days ago, but the law passed yesterday and didn't become pubic until about an hour ago." The sound of typing could be heard through the comm. "I'm reaching out to the League now, but I don't think they will be able to come."

Nico cursed again. "Fucking Luthor. This is all because of his propaganda spree and stupid ass UN speeches." Nico was silent for a long moment before he let out an angry sigh. "Give me five minutes and tell the League I'll get them approval."

"How-"

"I gotta make a call to the devil."

A/N: still making these chapter short to give myself a buffer between what I'm uploading and what I'm currently writing. Also, the Clone character is not an actual DC character, I just thought of it and was like why not lol

Vote. Comment. Tell me your best pitch for a villain-ish side character (I need some filler characters, so if I like your pitch, I might use it and @ you)
