A/N: hehe I'm baaaaaaaack! long chapter too
-Damian POV-
Damian felt useless. Nico had gone silent on the comm and the New Olympians channel was just static. They had no way of knowing what was happening. Even the girl who's livestream they were watching had been evacuated, so all they could see was her and the other evacuated people with paramedics and police.
Tim grunted before stepping back from the Zeta tube. "It's done... I think."
All the Waynes rushed over to him.
"What are we waiting for?" Damian demanded. "We need to go help Nico."
"Leo only made one port for the new Zeta Tube— or McShizzler— and it's never been tested. We need to make sure it works before we just-"
Damian stopped listening and before anyone could stop him, he grabbed his comm off the table and ran up to the panel. He heard his father yell for him to stop, but it was too late. He hit the final button and felt the familiar buzz of the Zeta tube pull him in.
Next thing he knew he was on the inside of the Argo III.
"Never question Valdez's inventions," he muttered to himself before putting the comm in his ear and clicking the button to unmute himself. "It works," he said simply.
"That was reckless and-"
Damian cut off Bruce. "My brother could be dead right now. I was not going to waste time with an idiotic test when we are all aware that Valdez, nor his siblings, would not have shared the blueprints if they were not sure in them. Additionally, Drake may be an idiot, but he is more than capable of following blue prints. I knew it would work, now get through the McShizzler before I come back and drag you all through."
The comm line was silent for a long moment before Damian hear the teleporter power up and begin announcing their presence. Everyone was through within a minute and Damian just eyed them.
"Good choice," he muttered, before they all ran to the exit of the interior of the ship and threw themselves over the railing. landing on the building closest. None of them slowed down, beginning to run over the rooftops, swinging between them when the gap was too wide.
They were at the Meta Human Youth Center within 5 minutes, but the scene they arrived at was nothing like they expected.
They expected to enter a battle field. Instead, they were faced with a mod of media. There was still smoke in the air, blood on the ground, and bullet holes littering the sides of buildings. His family sat perched on top of the Youth Center, just barely outside the view of the media, staring at the scene in horror.
"We're too late," Jason muttered quietly, his voice shakey.
Damian spotted Paramedics off to the side, surrounded by media trying to get to whoever they were treating and he was immediately sprinting towards them. He heard his family call for him to stop, but he was already jumping off the building, his grappling hook deployed to slow down his decent.
The news crews that spotted him immediately cleared a path while trying to get a comment, but he just strode forward. When he reached the paramedics, the police that were keeping the media away begrudgingly stepped aside, letting him see who was there.
Damian froze. "Riptide, Architect, Archer," he muttered, making their attention snap to him. Their eyes seemed dazed, like they were peering at him through a fog.
"Robin," Percy said, moving to stand up and move to him, but a paramedic pulled him back. Damian was surprised when the action actually kept the demigod there.
