Nico frowned at his reflection before begrudgingly walking out the door of his room and to the dining room. He walked in and saw his dad, brothers, Kon, Bart, Cassie, and Jon at the table. Tim's friends were always there on school days considering it was easier to just Zeta to the cave and ride with them, rather than try to figure out a carpool to Gotham, but Jon had joined them considering that Clark was still off world with the JL and his mom had to work. Will had offered to join them and ride to school with the group, but Nico turned him down since he knew his boyfriend was weirdly excited for the bus ride with the other school aged demigods that lived in his building.
Nico took his seat with a groan. "I should have faked my death over the summer."
Jason snorted. "You're fine."
Nico glared at him. "Big talk from the guy who never went back to school."
"I have my GED."
Nico rolled his eyes. "That's cheating."
"I was in 9th grade when I died. I was not about to go back to being a freshman at the age of 17."
Kon glanced at Jason. "I thought you left the League of Assassins when you were 16?"
"He did, but he spent a while trying to kill Bruce and I before chilling out," Tim said with a shrug.
"Yeah, I almost succeeded too," Jason said wistfully.
Bruce pinched the bridge of his nose. "I miss when we would have people over who didn't know about our other life. It forced you all to have normal conversations."
Nico shrugged. "Could be worse."
"How could it-" Cassie began to say before Tim covered her mouth, but the damage was done.
Nico just smirk. "I could talk about my other side of the family."
"How is that worse?" Kon asked, making a big mistake as Dick face palmed and Jason cackled.
Nico just shrugged. "Once my cousin was gonna slit my throat, but then he didn't because we were near my Father's house and he didn't know how to get back to camp."
The non-Waynes looked horrified.
"One time, I was in this maze with this dude who was trying to manipulate me into killing this one guy for him, and then he tried to sell me as a prisoner/weapon to my grandfather."
Their jaws dropped.
"Once, my step-mother tricked my cousins and I into going on a mission for her by leading us away from our families and friends and then kidnapping us, purely because she made this gift for my father, but then it was stolen so we had to get it back for her."
Bruce cut him off after that. "Okay, that's enough of that. I think it's time for school."
Alfred walked in at that moment. "Quite right, Master Bruce. I will pull the car around. Be at the front of the house in 5 minutes."
Alfred left the room and all the teens let out a groan and begrudgingly went to grab their backpacks. Nico looked down at his phone and saw Will had sent a selfie from the bus with all the demigods. The apartment complex they lived at was in the East End, so there weren't really any students that lived out there other than them. They had it all to themselves.
He was almost to the front door when his screen lit up with a call. He let out a groan and picked up.
"This better not be about another person you found that came back from the dead, or was stuck in time, or has an 'old soul'."
