Aycie Locke
May 26th, London.
I woke up abruptly, it took me hours to be able to fall asleep so I woke up pretty late, it was the sound of tigger scratching at my bedroom door that woke me up. He must be hungry. I dragged myself out of bed, remembering the events of last night, a part of me didn't want to think about it, now that it's day nothing bad can happen, the sunlight always makes me feel safer.
I open my door and tigger runs into my room, I pick him up and hug him close to my chest, using my hand to pet the top of his head and scratch under his chin whilst he purrs, nothing made me happier than being woken up by my cat. I put him down and let him take the lead as I followed him to his food bowls, I put a pouch of his food in and let him be.
1:30pm I look at the analogue clock ticking on the wall, I never sleep in this long. I know Niall is meant to come later today, but I still have a while, so I go to my bathroom thats attached to my room and tie my hair back, I splash my face with cold water and use a moisturiser before deciding to do two simple braids in my hair, I'd need it out the way to play guitar, so this was a hairstyle I used a lot, I also brush my teeth and use my peach flavoured chapstick.
I went to my closet and pulled out a straight legged pair of blue jeans and a plain red t shirt, I've always like the way red looked on me.
I made my bed, putting my childhood giraffe teddy named Gus front and centre in-front of the pillows, that's where he lived everyday, it was his spot. Tigger would always sleep at the end of my bed, and I'd just sit on the floor.
I always kept my room fairly clean, it's something I learnt growing up taking care of myself, you get used to the routine of cleaning and making sure you always know where you keep everything and what you had to do, so keeping my room organised helped me stay organised.
I opened my curtains finally letting daylight uncover the shadows in my room, I also crack the window open just slightly that you still couldn't open it from the outside, but enough that fresh air could come inside. It was a sunny day, it was hot, and I felt like going outside for once, but I still felt a little paranoid, so I brushed the idea aside, saving it for later.
I knew I needed to eat something soon since I hadn't eaten since lunch yesterday, I didn't have much of an appetite for anything, I never really do, it's probably because I just spent a lot of my time in my room not using energy, but I liked to make sure I was keeping myself healthy so I could look after tigger to the best of my abilities, so I gave in and made a piece of toast with butter, I also ate a bowl of strawberries, I'll never let strawberry season go to waste.
I ran back upstairs followed by tigger, he took his spot at the end of the bed, rolling onto his side to go to sleep. I grabbed my notebook from my bag and a pen, along with my guitar, I decided against writing another song and started using my time to practice some I wrote more recently.
"I think I'm gonna loose my mind.." I start singing trying to catch the right rhythm. "Something deep inside me I can't give up" I end it on a higher note, this was one of the songs I was working on for about a month now. I have written all the lyrics and used some finger picking to go with the verses, it's one of my favourite projects yet, I just needed to practice it.
"I think I'm gonna loose my mind, I roll, and I roll 'til I'm out of luck, yeah I roll, and I roll 'til I'm out of luck"
After a while of humming the lyrics to myself, I decide to practice the guitar for it, I grab my capo and place it on the third fret and place my fingers onto a C chord before starting to strum the individual strings, soon the sound of the catchy tune filled my bedroom and I felt pretty satisfied with myself.
