A/N I didn't know if you could tell but I'm really dramatic
Anyways here's part 3

Travis's POV

My heart dropped as I entered the room and saw her on the bed. I knew she was alive and well, but she didn't look that way. She was in a hospital gown with a tube snaking out of her mouth, breathing for her. Her cheeks had lost all colour and her left arm was raised in a white cast. Underneath her hospital gown I could see that there was something just below her chest, which I assumed was the dressing.
"She'll probably wake up in about 1 to 2 hours" the doctor said, adjusting the tube. "Call me when she does" she finished, leaving the room.

"Hey baby" I whispered, sitting down next to her. It pained me to see her like this. I took her cold hand into mine and squeezed it gently. It had an IV in it so I had to be careful, as the other one was in a cast.

Three hours later

My head was laid on the bed, still holding her hand- we had been like this for a while. Suddenly I felt movement and I whipped my head up. Her blue eyes were open, squinting as she took in her surroundings. She was high on morphine so she shouldn't feel any pain.
"Hey baby" I whispered, relieved. I was scared she was never going to wake up. She widened her eyes at me in fear, noticing the tube coming out of her mouth. She tried to talk but failed. "No, no don't talk baby, it's okay I'm here" I murmered, wiping the year which rolled down her cheek. She was scared- I understood that. "I'm here, I'm not leaving you"

Two hours later

"Where is she?!" Andrea cried out, rushing into the room. I quietly shushed her as Taylor was sleeping- it had taken a while for her to settle down. Tears filled Andreas eyes as she say next to her daughter, holding her hand.
"Is she going to be okay?" She asked, in a quiet shaky voice.
"Yeah, to an extent" I responded. "Its going to be a very difficult recovery, mentally and physically, but I'll be there"
"Thank you" Andrea whispered.

The next day

Taylor had been dozing in and out of consciousness for a while. The morphine was making her drowsy, as well as the stress and work of her body trying to mend itself. It was now that the doctors decided it would be okay to remove Taylor's tube- I had to admit I was scared. What if her lungs weren't strong enough? But they reassured me she was ready, and I trusted them. Andrea had been by her side since she arrived, barely talking. She was scared too. And sad. Like me, she hated seeing Taylor in this state.

Just then, Doctor Shepherd entered the room.
"Could you wake her?" she asked, gesturing towards Taylor. Gently, I nudged her arm. Her eyes opened, squinting. They were especially clear from the amount of sleep she had just had.
"Hi Taylor" the doctor greeted her, and Taylor raised her hand slightly in response. She was still too tired to do any more than that. "We think you're ready for the tube to be removed" she continued. I watched as Taylor's eyes widened a little bit in fear, but I smiled reassuringly at her and gently squeezed her hand. "It will be really easy- we will just lay you back then ease the tube out. You may feel slight discomfort and it will most likely set your gag reflex off, but it's perfectly safe. Are you ready now?" She finished. Taylor nodded uncertainly, her eyes flickering to meet mine.
"Its okay baby, I'm here" I reassured her. The bed was lowered so she was lying down and the doctor disconnected the tube from the machines.

"Okay" she started. "Take a deep breath in 3...2...1" Taylor inhaled deeply as the tube was eased out of her mouth. Once it came out she coughed, wincing in pain.
"How does that feel? You can try and talk if you want" The doctor said.
"Its-" Taylor cleared her throat and tried again. "Its okay" she croaked. Doctor Shephered grabbed a stethoscope and held it up to my girlfriend chest, asking her to inhale and exhale at certain points.
She cleared her throat. "Ok, it looks like your lungs are holding up well. You will probably only have to stay in hospital for another week, just to check that it's all going well, then we can send you on home! You will have to keep a close eye on your insicisions though, just to check they are all healing well"
Taylor grinned at me, delighted. Oh how lovely it was to see my girl happy again.
"Will she still need to take pain medication?" Andrea asked.
"Yes" the doctor responded. "She will be in quite a lot of pain for a good couple of months, most likely, I'm afraid."

Throughout the conversation I could see Taylor's eyelids beginning to droop.
"Sleep Tay" I whispered in her ear, giving her a kiss on the forehead. She took my advice and slowly drifted into a world of her own. She looked so peaceful. If only it was always like that.
