"You ready?" Travis bent down and whispered into Taylor's ear. She shifted her position in the wheelchair, nodding up at him before looking out the big hospital windows at the carpark.
"Drew us going to bring the car round the front, so we won't have to walk far, and hopefully there won't be much paparazzi anyway as I don't think they know you're here" He tried to reassure his girlfriend.
"Okay..." She nodded unsurely, pulling the hood of Travis's hoodie (which she borrowed) over her head. She stood up slowly out of the wheelchair, gripping onto Travis's hands tightly. One of the nurses took the wheelchair away whilst Taylor's security gathered around her, alerting the driver. Using Travis as support, Taylor walked slowly over to the door. She kept her head down as the pair, plus security, moved slowly but steadily across the car park, hiding from any cameras.

Eventually they reached the car and Travis helped Taylor in, before climbing in the other side himself. Thankful that they had successfully made their way to the car with almost no paps spotting them, they set off on the journey home.

Taylor rested her head on Travis's shoulder, signing deeply.
"You okay?" Travis asked her, wrapping his arm around her and giving her a kiss on the head.
"Yep! Can't wait to be home" she smiled up at him as their car pulled into the drive. Security shut the gate behind them, ensuring no cameras could get a glimpse of the pair, then gestured that it was all clear. Travis climbed out the car and made his way round to Taylor's side. He helped her up, making sure not to jostle her too much, then, with Taylor using him as support, they made their way to the steps. Travis unlocked the door and helped Taylor inside, sitting her on the sofa before putting their stuff away.

"You know I can walk, right?" Taylor asked playfully, watching Travis as he attempted the tidy up the cluttered living room.
"The doctor said you need to be really careful and have help for the first few days. We don't want a repeat of what happened last time" Travis was still very worried that history would repeat itself. He had gotten close to losing her once, he didn't want it to happen again.

"Lets watch a movie!" Taylor exclaimed excitedly, flicking through Netflix. Travis came and sat next to her, pulling her close but being careful not to jostle her too much. Fifteen minutes into the movie and Taylor was fast asleep, her head resting on Travis's shoulder.

He picked her up, careful not to wake her, and bought her up the stairs, laying her down on the bed.
"Goodnight baby, I love you" he whispered, kissing her on the forehead and tucking her in. She immediately snuggled into the covers, still fast asleep. Travis smiled fondly, switching off the light and heading back downstairs. He glared at the pile of sheets and towels from that one horrific night. It already seemed like a lifetime ago. He picked up the blood-stained fabrics, wincing as the memories came in flashbacks. He quickly chucked them into the bin, rinsing his hands, trying to rid his brain of those thoughts.

He made his way upstairs, carefully climbing into bed next to Taylor. She instinctively snuggled into him as he wrapped his arms around her slender figure.

Taylor woke early, needing to pee. Desperately. As much as she knew she needed help, she wanted to be independent. She was slightly embarrassed that she needed help doing the tiniest things, so, slowly, as not to wake Travis, she rolled over. She sat up, groaning inwardly. She was now sitting on the side of the bed, her feet touching the carpet. Now for the hardest part. Biting her lip so hard she was sure she had drawn blood, she eased her body up. She yelped out in pain as she reached the standing position, her hands on the wall for support. One foot in front of the other. About five steps to the bathroom. She could do it. She set off, her right foot first.
"Aagh!" She cried out, falling against the wall. Travis mumbled something in his sleep, his eyes opening at the sudden loud noise.
"Taylor..." He mumbled, still half asleep. "Taylor?!" He sat up quickly, now wide awake. He leapt out of bed and sped over to his girlfriend who was leaning against the wall, holding her stomach in pain.

"What are you doing?" He asked her gently, helping her to sit on the bed. He turned on the lamp, kneeling in front of his girlfriend and putting both his hands on her thighs. She looked up guiltily.
" I needed to pee" she mumbled, looking down.
"And you couldn't wake me to help you? Tay, you need help, and that's okay, but why didn't you get me?" Travis asked her gently. Taylor looked into his eyes, shrugging.
"Don't pull that stunt again, okay? Come on, let's get you to the bathroom" He stood up, giving her a kiss on the head before helping her up.

Five minutes and a successful toilet trip later, they were back in bed.

One week later

It had been one week since Taylor was let out of the hospital and she was feeling a lot more confident and stable. She could walk quite well by herself now, however still needed help getting up sometimes and on stairs.

This particular Saturday morning, Taylor was upstairs getting ready. Their friends were coming over, their first guests since the hospital visit, and the pair were both a bit nervous.

Travis was currently downstairs, tidying up a bit, whilst Taylor was adding the finishing touches to her make-up.
"Travis!" She needed him for something, so she called. But she got no answer.
" Trav? " she called again. Slowly, she got up, using the table as help. She made her way to the top of the stairs, peering down.
"Travis!" She called again.

Travis couldn't hear her, as he was listening to his music whilst setting the table. Grumbling under her breath, Taylor grabbed the hand rails, she started off down the stairs, moving slowly. It was hard work, and she could feel herself almost slipping at times. She was already almost halfway down by the time Travis decided to come and check on her.

"Taylor!" He cried when he saw her. He leapt up the stairs, holding her arms and helping her the rest of the way.
"Gosh Tay, why did you do that?" He asked her, once she was sat on the sofa.
" I needed you to do my necklace but you weren't answering" Taylor grumbled, crossing her arms grumpily.
"Aw I'm sorry baby, but you can't do that by yourself, okay?" Taylor was still glaring at the floor, her arms crossed tightly against her chest.
"I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry" Travis laughed, kissing her on her forehead, cheeks, chin, nose then lips. By the end Taylor was giggling, and Travis was delighted to see her happy again.
