It was Thursday afternoon, and 16 year old Taylor had just moved into the neighbourhood. Her mother had allowed her to go out after dinner, to have little look about the town.

She was walking down an empty street, no cars to be seen. The houses lining the street were beautiful and she admired them as she walked past, her eyes skipping over the beautiful gardens and designs on the walls.

Suddenly she heard a honk from behind her, making her jump and turn around quickly. Without her realising, a rusty coloured pickup truck had turned the corner and was inching along the road behind her, a man in the front seat.

"Hey, you!" The man shouted, his window rolled down. Taylor tried to ignore him, waking on quickly but the man continued to drive along beside her.
"Where are you off to?" He asked.
"Just going into the town" Taylor told him, looking up. He seemed nice enough.
"Me too!" The man exclaimed, smiling. "Why don't you hop in? It looks like it's about to start raining"

Taylor looked up, her eyes scanning the sky. The man was right, the sky was filled with dark grey clouds and the air felt heavy.
"I'm okay thanks" Taylor smiled politely, wrapping her arms around herself and continuing to walk on. No matter how nice this man seemed, how smiley he was, Taylor had an uneasy feeling around him.

"Come on pretty girl, I won't hurt you" at this point the man stopped the truck, climbing out. "Just jump in the back!" He dropped into step behind Taylor, resting a hand on her lower back.
"No thank you" Taylor was starting to feel scared, this wasn't right.
"Come on, it's quite far into town. It would be so much easier for you if you just let me give you a lift!" He grabbed her arm, drawing her to a halt.
"No thank you, please can you let go" Taylor said through gritted teeth, trying to pull away. She was terrified, yet couldn't bring herself to move. She didn't know what this man was capable of, what this is man could do to her.

The man started to drag her towards his truck, his fingers digging into her arm. She tried to pull away, tried to run but this man's grip was relentless, pulling her as she stumbled along behind.

Suddenly there was a shout from behind her and the thud of trainers on concrete could be heard. The man tried to pull her harder but she dug her shoes into the pavement, trying with all her force to pull away.

Another hand grabbed her other arm, lightly this time. The hand was warm, soft.
"Hey! Let go of her!" The boy shouted, pushing the man back and pulling Taylor towards him. The man let go of Taylor quickly, scrambling up into his truck and driving away quickly. Taylor stumbled back into the boys arms, feeling as he stabilised her.

17 year old Travis was wondering the streets after dinner, enjoying feeling the cool air on his skin. After being cramped up in his house all day he had just wanted to get outside; make the most of his free time before school started up again.

He turned a corner, his hands in his pockets as he hummed along to a song. His eyes were scanning over the beautiful houses, front gardens, the mosaics that lined the walls.

Suddenly his eyes caught something, a commotion happening further down the street. He squinted, trying to get a better look. He wasn't quite sure what was happening; he was too far away. He took a couple of steps closer and that was when he realised what it was.

A girl, no older than him, and a man. The man had a hold of the girls arm and was pulling her towards his truck, but the girl was protesting, shaking her head. She looked terrified as she tried to pull away, but of course, the man was stronger than her.

His heart dropped into his stomach as he broke out into a run.
"Hey, stop!" He shouted as he got closer. He could see the man notice he was there, could see as panic crossed over his face. The man picked up the pace, yanking the girl towards his truck with more force than ever.

Finally Travis reached the girl, grabbing her arm.
"Hey! Let go of her!" He shouted, pushing the man back. He pulled the girl towards him and the man dropped her arm, turning and fleeing.

Travis could feel the girl trembling as she fell into his arms.
"Hey, you're okay" he told her gently, his hands resting on her shoulders.

Her eyes met his as she looked up and that was when his heart stopped. She was beautiful. Her eyes were a clear blue colour, her blonde hair in a frizzy cloud around her face. Her features were soft, fitting perfectly together, and Travis swore he had never seen someone so beautiful in his life.

"I'm sorry" she mumbled, looking down.
"No no, don't apologise. I'm just glad I got here in time. Are you okay?" He asked her, still captivated by her beauty.
"I think so" she said, lifting the sleeve of her jumper to examine her arm. Travis could see four clear finger marks around her upper arm, already forming bruises.
"Ouch, that looks painful" Travis winced as he caught sight of it.
"It's okay, I'll be... Okay" she nodded.

"What's your name?" Travis asked.
"My names Taylor. What's yours?" Taylor. What a beautiful name, Travis couldn't help but think.
"I'm Travis" he smiled at her, a warm, welcoming smile, and Taylor couldn't help but melt.

"Well, I should probably get going" Taylor said glancing behind her.
"Wait" Travis stopped her from leaving. "Let me walk you home. I want to make sure you get back safe"
"Okay" Taylor nodded smiling, and so they set off.

That night, Travis couldn't stop thinking about that girl. There was one thing he knew, and that was that he had to get to know her better.
