A bullet flew past him, missing his head by a very small margin.

Said one of the guards, most likely to the rest of her group.
' So they've caught up...! '
The guard who fired at Evolto, who was also still currently aiming at him as she prepared another shot, was at the end of the hallway where he came from.
' That guard is most likely waiting for the rest to come, then–! '
" !! Subject K/R-3V.01, remain where you are! "
" Any further attempts at escape, and I will have to neutralize you where you– "
Evolto of course did not heed the warning as he proceeded to roll away from his current position, at the same time quickly taking out his handgun and aiming at the guard as he got back to his feet.
* BANG *

Evolto pulled the trigger as he dodged the bullet that was fired at his direction.
The bullet that was fired by the guard had missed.
As for the one fired by Evolto, because he had dodged the moment he pulled the trigger, the trajectory of the bullet ended up off-target as it hit the woman's shoulder.
" GUH– "
The guard grunted in pain.
Due to her battlesuit however, the bullet did not end up penetrating fully, only giving her superficial wounds caused by the bullet.
' Now's my chance! '
Evolto thought to himself, making a beeline towards the exit.
" Subject K/R-3V.01 is on the move! "
" I repeat! "
" Subject K/R-3V.01 is on the move! "
" Subject K/R-3V.01 has escaped the facility! "
The guard said, shooting another round towards Evolto's direction after recovering from the damage.

Evolto, slowing down his strides in order to catch his breath, has finally escaped the facility and is now outside.
As he felt his breathing stabilize, he inspected the scenery before him.
The lab, which, now that he's outside, is much bigger than he initially thought. However, it looked extremely out of place compared to it's surroundings.
Trees.
Trees as far as the eyes can see.
Evolto now realised he is in the middle of a massive jungle that is akin to being a literal sea of trees.
He has no idea where he was.
