The darkness gradually faded as Lin opened her eyes slowly.

" Mmh... " She brought up one of her hands to cover her eyes from the oddly blinding light, her eyes still adjusting themselves after being shut for so long.

Slowly, she started to regain her sight, and once her sight had returned to where she is able to somewhat discern the ceiling without being blinded, she got up from the bed she is lying on.

" Ugh.... " she groaned.

" This place is.... " scanning her surroundings, she is apparently back in her room at the junkyard.

' How...did I get here...? '

Last thing she remembered was that she had apparently rushed out of the shack in order to make sure Eva was alright.

' And then after that....I transformed. '

Using the Proto-Build Driver she had snatched in a haste, she went and faced against the rampaging Honkai(?) Beast.

" ....Geez. It...really felt like a dream...all of it. " She said self-deprecatingly.

And truthfully, she still had some doubts regarding whether or not the incident last night(?) was real.

" Urk...! " Well, the pain immediately casted those doubts away, though.

' Still...I remember that I was defeated....So how am I ali- Ah. ' her train of thoughts were halted as hazy memories resurfaced.

[ Elec Steam! ]

[ Steam Shot...! ]

[ Bat! ]

' That's right... '

" The bat man.... "

She recalled the moonlit visage of the one who had dealt the finishing blow to the monster, their bat-shaped visor the last thing she recalled before losing consciousness.

Just as she had come to this conclusion, the door opened, before giving way to an old man with with white hair carrying a tray of food inside the room.

" ! "

" ....Grandpa... "

" Lin.....? " Dr. Magi stammered, the food in his hands threatened to spill onto the floor from the incessant trembling of his hands.

" Lin! " Dr. Magi quickly set the food down onto a nearby table, before breaking into a full sprint towards his granddaughter.

Lin then proceeds to catch her grandfather coming at her with her injured body, earning a grunt from the purple-haired girl.

" Ugh...! "

" You're awake! You're finally awake...! "

" G-Grandpa.... " Lin, still in a chokehold due to how tightly her grandfather is hugging her, is unable to find the right words for her current situation.

" ......* Sob * "

" ! "

A sob from Dr. Magi earned a surprised reaction from her, further fueling her confusion on how to react.

" * sob * .....Thank God....Thank God you're safe.... * sob * "

" .... "

She felt a pang of guilt in her heart.
