A roar was heard in the distance, the earsplitting sound causing tremors in the ground with it's sound waves.
" What was– "
[ Squad Φ, please respond! ]
" Squad χ, what is the situation right now?! "
[ An Emperor-class Honkai Beast has breached our defenses! It is now heading your way! ]
[ Take Subject K/R-3V.01 immediately and get away from there! ]
' Chance! '
Making use of the commotion, Evolto shot down two valkyries furthest from him who were still recovering from the effects of the roar.
Not even a second later, he dashed towards the one closest to him and proceeded to throw a punch towards her face, which ended up twisting her neck into a very unnatural angle.
" !! "
" Neutralize the target! "
Said one of the valkyries who had already recovered from the roar of the Honkai Beast, aiming her rifle at Evolto.
Just as she pulled the trigger, Evolto used the body of the valkyrie that he had just killed as a meat shield in order to block the shot as well as other shots coming towards him.
He then threw the body towards the assailant, knocking her off-balance.
At the same time the valkyrie was knocked off-balance, Evolto had already started his next move.
" HRARGH!! "
Using the sword he snatched from the valkyrie's body, Evolto dashed towards the next one closest to him and swung his sword, slashing across her body diagonally, causing it to part into two-halves.
' Two left....! '
Not even taking the time to confirm his kill, Evolto immediately rolled back and away from his victim, at the same time a bullet flew past him, and missing him narrowly.
As the valkyrie who shot the bullet was preparing to take another shot, Evolto was already back on his feet.
* BANG *
Was the last sound the valkyrie heard in her final moments as her body dropped lifelessly onto the ground, a bullet hole burried deep into her head.
' Now there's just one– '
* ZAP *
" GAH-! "
Evolto grunted in pain, having gotten hit by a shock-bullet.
The one who fired the bullet was the valkyrie Evolto had knocked off-balance prior.
" Subject K/R-3V.01! "
" You're coming with me! "
" Don't mess with me....! "
Evolto, shrugging off the electric-shock, started running towards the remaining valkyrie.
The valkyrie, seeing that Evolto is still standing and is running towards her, fired another shot.
* ZAP *
" ARRGH! "
Evolto yelled in pain, albeit his pace was not slowed down at all.
* ZAP *
" GRAAARRGH!! "
He yelled again, tanking another shock-bullet.
' Just what is this girl....?! '
The valkyrie questioned herself, now feeling fear towards the thing in front of her.
' This, this is not a human! '
The valkyrie exclaimed inside her.
Just before she can take another shot however, she found herself getting her rifle yanked off of her.
By none other than Evolto.
" That's enough of that, little girl...! "
Evolto said as he put his hands on the valkyrie's neck, before lifting her up from the ground.
" GaAGchk–! "
The valkyrie gurgled.
" You foolishly thought to yourselves that you can capture me?! "
" I am Evolto, The Black Hole! "
" I AM THE DEVOURER OF WORLDS!! "
Were the last words the valkyrie heard, before Evolto sunk his fingers into the girl's neck.
