" KYAAA...! " a white haired girl screamed in panic as she awoke.

When she finally gathered her bearings, she noticed that she is currently in a hotel room, though it does not resemble the one Fu Hua took her to.

" Good morning, young miss. "

" ! " she whipped her head to the side where a voice called out to her.

It was an old man with white hair and beard.

The same old man who had drugged her last night.

" How are you feeling today? "

" ? " still feeling a bit groggy, Kiana tried to get up from the bed.

" Hngh... " she wobbled towards the old man's direction.

" Who-Whoa! " her legs failed her, though.

" I feel so...weak and whoozy....Where....am I...? Why am I here....? "

" Don't worry, girl. You'll recover your strength soon. "

The old man showed her an empty vial.

" I have injected a Honkai-neutralizing serum into your body. "

" !! "

" Any of your tissue and organ damaged by exposure to the Honkai should be healing itself. You can keep taking this  serum to purge the Honkai from your systems. "

" And then you can finally live the life you deserve as a normal little girl. " he continued, a tinge of sadness in his voice.

" Neutralize the Honkai and become a normie? But that means I won't be able to fight the Honkai and defend humanity! "

" Fight the Honkai and defend humanity? " the old man said, indignant.

" Why should little girls like you be the ones risking your lives and dying for our sake?! "

" I served the damned Overseer Otto for more than 40 years! I turned too many little girls like you into Valkyries! They were then deployed in battles around the world, and then the Honkai killed them one by one! Beast or cascade, it doesn't matter! My own granddaughter Lin died in front of my eyes! "

He then clenched his fist tightly his fingernails started piercing through his skin.

" I then realized I have been doing nothing but evil for 40 years! This is why I developed the Honkai-neutralizing serum and stole the Gem of Serenity! I'll do anything to protect girls like you from Otto and his Schicksal forces! "

" I shall redeem myself by saving as many of you as I can...! "

" Test Subject 526, A-rank Valkyrie, Lin. Vital signs stable. "

A girl was submerged in a tank of unknown fluid, not unlike the one whence Evolto emerged from.

She is of purple hair, the bangs of which is clipped with two blue hairpins.

She wore a gray and white one-piece suit that covered her arms and body, leaving her legs exposed.

On her neck is a tag, written on it the number : 526.

" Trial initiated. "

As if on prompt by this, a mechanical appendage holding a purple gem between it's grasp started approaching the girl's chest.
