The Rainbow Dolphin wasn't the nicest place at times. Sometimes it brought the worst people. The ones who were just looking for someone to bring home, whether they were willing to or not. It happened in many bars. That was why most of them had bouncers.
It just so happened that they were taking their sweet time.
Melvin looked at Mateo curiously. It wasn't the brightest idea to intervene, but that was expected of him at this point. Mateo was definitely the type of man who had all the lights on inside, but no one was home.
Those green eyes looked incredibly angry, though. The only reason that surprised Melvin was because it wasn't aimed at him for once.
"Maybe you should butt out, Pretty Boy," the man said. He had a strong grip, Melvin would say that. Of course, he mentioned that no one was allowed to touch his leash or neck without consent at the beginning of his performance, and someone still tries to do it. "Unless you want that pretty little nose of yours to be broken."
"Sorry," Melvin said, clipping the leash off from the collar. "I'm afraid I've already made a claim on that pretty face of his. You'll have to look elsewhere."
Before the man realized what the unclipping of the leash meant, Melvin went to work. He tied the leash around the man's wrist, then the next one as the burly man instinctually tried to free the first. When both of them were tied, Melvin attached it to one of the metal lights that was bolted into the brick wall. It was a glorious sight to see someone so giant get humbled so quickly.
"Get this stuff off from me!" He complained. There was a crowd of people now, but Melvin didn't care. He was rather enjoying this show.
"Only when you learn the meaning of consent," he told him. "I'm sure that might take a while for your hard head to realize, though. Don't worry, the bouncers should get to you eventually."
He knew the bouncers personally. If they saw something like this, they would most likely let it go for a while until they tried to free the man. Being humbled was always good.
"How the fuck did you tie him up that fast?" Mateo asked.
"How do you think I got so good at it?" Melvin asked. "Why are you here, Pretty Boy?"
"I was invited here, thank you very much," Mateo crossed his arms, frowning. It almost looked like he was pouting. "Why are you here?"
"I was invited, thank you very much," he smirked. Melvin hadn't seen him in merely a week, but it felt like it had been much longer. He was surprised to see him here. "I thought you had finally gone out of town. I'm unpleasantly surprised."
"What?" The man scowled at him. "No thank you? I just saved your life!"
"You must really be losing your mind if you think you saved my life," Melvin laughed. They walked away from the table with the tied-up sausage with eyes, heading towards the bar. He had been looking forward to a drink all day. It was one of the perks of not being in his night club working for once. He was already promised a ride home too.
"Hey," Mateo pointed at his own chest. "If it weren't for me distracting him, you wouldn't have been able to catch him by surprise."
"Really?" He looked down to grab his wallet. "I seem to distract you all by myself."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"I could feel your eyes burning into me the entire time I was on stage," he handed cash to the bartender. They already knew what his favorite was. "Why do you think I'm not surprised to see you here?"
