It would have been funny to see Mateo so scared about this, if it weren't for the fact that he had Melvin's work laptop. The same laptop that he had only entrusted Anton with, giving him the password for the sake of payroll when he was coming back from the hospital.

"H-hey, baby!" Mateo closed the laptop, trying to set it on the coffee table inconspicuously. "How did you sleep?"

"First of all, I'm not your baby," Melvin frowned. "I'm your Master, if anything. Secondly, you literally convinced me to take a nap just so you could hack into my work computer?"

He didn't know how to feel when he got to the living room just a few minutes ago. Melvin had heard Anton's voice towards his backyard. He had thought about going out there to see if his hunch was correct, but he was also curious as to where Mateo was. Mateo usually slept with him, even if it was little catnaps throughout the day.

"I didn't hack it," Mateo frowned. It was strange to see those green eyes looking a bit angry to him. It wasn't like he was the one who had his whole business being touched by someone he didn't want access to.

"What did you do?" He asked, grabbing his laptop and opening it.

"I didn't touch anything with your business," Mateo said. "If you don't believe me, ask Anton. He was sitting next to me the entire time I was using it."

"He wasn't just now."

"That's because he's ordering a pizza for everyone," Mateo crossed his arms. "You included."

Melvin unlocked the laptop to see something he wasn't expecting. The document he had been using to write the contract was filled with words to a draft that he knew he didn't make. He checked the other tabs open on the laptop to find that nothing had been done to his business since he last checked it, minus the paychecks coming out. Thankfully, they didn't come out late for his workers.

Some employee profiles got updated to show terminated, as well as notes in others regarding start dates for when they started doing extra work so that Melvin could give them a bonus. He knew that was all Anton's doing. That was exactly what he had told him to do while he was gone. Hopefully it didn't cause him too much work.

The open tabs showed examples of contracts, as well as a dictionary sight for some specific words. None of them had anything to do with Melvin's business. They solely focused on topics for the contract.

Melvin looked at Mateo again. He didn't have the best reputation. Even then, Melvin didn't like entrusting anyone with his business. He only allowed Anton access because he was too sick to work, and he knew Anton understood the programs used. Melvin hadn't even trusted any of his employees with this kind of access.

Those green eyes looked energized and passionate. Melvin felt like he had missed something when he was asleep, because some switch was turned on for this man. There was a spark that he hadn't seen in him.

"Why?" He asked.

"Because I wanted you to be able to rest," Mateo told him honestly. "Without having to worry about work. It wasn't like it was too hard to whip something up. Anton gave me all the things I needed to have for the contract when he met up with the clients. From there, I used the first tiny draft you had written up and just went with it."

"You don't have to constantly worry about me, you know," Melvin sighed as he started to read over what was written so far. "And you seriously shouldn't mess with a business computer without permission. I don't care if we're married, you still need to ask."

"Is this your way of saying that you aren't mad at me?" The tone of his voice turned playful. It had been a long time since Melvin had heard him tease. Perhaps not too long, but it sure felt that way.
