Things were going to be fine. Everything was in order at his club. It wasn't going to be long before he would have some new workers. There wouldn't be too much training needed for them. And everything that needed to get done was complete. It was all a waiting game. For now, he could enjoy some time at home.

As long as his phone stopped blowing up.

"You're going to have to answer him eventually," Mateo sat down on the couch with him. "Either that, or he's just going to keep calling me instead. And I'm pretty sure he's tired of hearing my voice."

"It's a shame," Melvin smirked. "I enjoyed you being my secretary."

"Very funny," Mateo rolled his eyes. "Are we done with errands, by the way?"

"Why?" He raised a brow. It was easy to be amused by the obvious man. "I thought you would like going outside, considering we've both been stuck in here for a whole two weeks."

"I mean, I would love to go to the beach, actually," Mateo's green eyes lit up. "We can go check out the beach house, since it's all fixed up."

"I was worried you were going to bring that beach up," Melvin groaned. As much as he teased the man about errands that he knew he really didn't want to do, Melvin hadn't exactly wanted to go outside in general. HE still felt tired, his body worn out from the infection it had to fight for so long.

He wasn't sick anymore, but he just didn't feel like walking around a lot or swimming. And Mateo would surely be trying to get him in the ocean if they went to the beach.

And it was still daytime.

Melvin hated going to the beach in the daytime.

"You just want to act like a vampire and stay indoors all day," Mateo laughed. "You need some color on your skin."

"The only color my skin turns is red," he complained.

"Then maybe you should just suck it up," he leaned closer to him. "And wear sunblock."

"Or maybe," Melvin smiled as he felt the man's nose on his neck. "You could just go and tan outside, and I'll watch from inside."

"That's no fun," Mateo frowned, his arms now going around him.

"It is for me," he told him, resting his arms around Mateo's shoulders. "But something tells me that you don't really want to go to the beach."

"Laying in bed could be fun still," Mateo answered, quickly slipping his hands under Melvin's shirt. "If you're up for something other than sleeping."

"Considering I've only been sleeping for the past two weeks," he told him, running his hands over Mateo's muscular back. "I might be up for a change of pace."

It was funny to think of how nonchalant Melvin acted when he had been ravenous for this man even when he was in and out of sleep, about to cough up a lung. If there was one thing Melvin loved to do, it was torture himself. He loved stretching things out, just so he could enjoy the moment more. There was something so satisfying about finishing in someone that you held yourself back from for so long.

Before he followed Mateo to the bedroom, though, Melvin finally looked at his phone. Anton had been trying to message him for a few hours now, trying to call as well. It was nice that he had someone in his family that was so concerned for him. Melvin would have to actually hang out with him sometime soon. He had been neglecting his cousin for long enough.

But he had been neglecting something else for what seemed like much longer.

"Mel, what the he-!"

"I'm fine," he cut Anton off, figuring it would be better to call him rather than text. "I'll be fine. Don't worry about me, and don't come over for at least two days unless you want to see something unpleasant."
