"Great," Cameron groaned. "I have a thousand missed calls, texts from everyone and their mother-!"

"Why would their mother text you?" Benny asked. "If their mom is anything like mine, she would have already hunted you down and given you an earful."

"You've never heard of that figure of speech?" Cameron asked the blond. They knew he was from the 80s, but they all still went to the mortal world enough to pick up some things.

"Oh, I've heard it," Benny gave him a mischievous smile. "I just thought it would be funnier to but in. I'm not lying about my mom either. She would do that if you didn't answer your phone, it would just take her a week to start to worry to the point of trying to find you. We had home phones, so it wasn't like we always had a phone with us."

"You two have to stop being partners," Obasi told Will. They were behind the other two as they all made their way back to the breakroom. "He's starting to act just like you now."

"Benny is his own person," Will chuckled. "Besides, what's the fun in that? I mean, you and I could be partners again, but then you'd have to deal with me more than you normally do."

"What a headache that would be," Obasi rolled his eyes. "You'd probably embarrass me in front of even more gods."

"I did try to warn you," The brunette laughed some more. "Your eyes looked beautiful from that angle, by the way."

"You aren't going to distract me from this," Obasi frowned. "You guys still shouldn't have kept that going for as long as you did."

"We got a little carried away," Will waved the thought away. "It couldn't have lasted that long."

If anything, getting back to their breakroom was going to be what took forever. Will didn't realize how deep they had gone to try and stay away from Cameron. The building that all the cupids worked in had been large, with it constantly changing and growing to adapt to the times. The gods paved the way to the future, and love tied into time the same ways that life itself did.

And just like life had twists and turns, so did this maze of a building.

"We're almost there," Obasi said. "I can't believe you guys went so far. I'm surprised even Himeros could find you."

"Knowing him, he was probably following them for a good hour before letting himself be known," Cameron sighed. It was an hour they could have gotten back from their life, but at least they had their phone back. Now Cameron just had to keep to their word and keep from calling people back until after they found out what they missed.

"That's a little creepy," Benny said. "I mean, I was pretty sure I checked the rooms before we hid in there."

"Gods have ways of sneaking around," Obasi shook his head. "That's how they check in on people, both mortals, and the workers in here."

"Finally," Cameron sighed as they saw familiar hallways. All it took was a few more steps before they finally got to the door. They were in the II Department's breakroom this time. The other breakroom Will had brought them too was nice, but Cameron couldn't help but enjoy their cozy little slice of heaven better.

"Where the hell have you guys been?!" Velvet just about screeched as she saw them come inside. "Cam, I've been trying to get ahold of you for ages now!"

"I was told to wait to answer my phone until we all got back here," Cameron answered, looking at the anticupids that were there next. "What happened?"

"A lot," Sarah said. She was sitting down on one of the couches, Justin right next to her. "Did you guys seriously keep that phone away from him for that long?"
