Silence was a rare instance in the building. And with how many people worked there, it wasn't likely that there would be silence in that tower. If there weren't workers talking, then there were always television screens, music, or papers shuffling. Even the taping of keyboards in certain areas. There typically wasn't a quiet room among the thousands that formed the office.

But this room, specifically, was.

The television screen had been turned off a long time ago, the viewers concerned about what they were most likely about to see. This specific department had permissions to see just about everything. There wasn't a filter. Instead, it was turned off for the squeamish. Because what was on it wasn't for the faint of heart.

Everyone stayed in the awkward silence, letting the reality of what had just happened sink in. There was one unasked question hanging in the air. And it all centered around two men. One was a brunette who was sitting at the table, staring off into space. His caramel-chocolate eyes swirled with thoughts that wouldn't come out. The other was the blond, who had been standing up, still staring at the blank television screen.

Considering none of them were mortal, they could stay like that for a long while. Velvet had wanted to break it, but in all honesty, she was trying her hardest not to laugh at the two cupid's reactions.

"Okay," Benny took a deep breath, pointing towards the TV. "That was NOT our doing."

"I'm pretty sure it was," Velvet said. "If your plan was to anger Melvin, then this was always a possibility."

"We weren't trying to make him mad!" The blond argued, his cotton candy eyes swirled with passion. "We were trying to get his family to be concerned about him and potentially convince him to see a doctor!"

"Please tell me you weren't the ones who brought his father into this," Cameron looked worried. They were extremely familiar with Melvin's father, and it wasn't in the best way. It was one of those gray areas that just turned sour for both of them. But his father hadn't tried to contact him for years. They had no clue why he would now.

"That was a surprise for us too, actually," Will told him, finally snapping out of his reverie. "Like Benny said, our plan wasn't to make him angry. It was just to try and get people closer to him so that they could push him to seek help."

"How the hell did his father get brought into this then?" Justin asked, confused. "And why is Melvin so angry about it?"

"Most of the people that enjoy BDSM have some issues with their parents," Velvet patted Justin's hand. "To put it simply: his father didn't quite appreciate the lifestyle that Melvin chose."

"There's no way that our magic brought him back, though," Will shook his head. "We didn't even do that much."

"What did you do, exactly?" Velvet asked. "Because this is seeming like a 'Task Failed Successfully' situation."

"Okay," Will started counting on his fingers. "We made the plan."

"Uh huh," Velvet raised a brow.

"Executed the plan."

"Mmhmm."

"The plan somehow went off the rails," he pointed towards the black screen.

"Obviously," she couldn't help but keep commenting on this. Will paused at the perfect time for her to keep egging him on. He was so theatrical with his movements, too.

"And then..." Will paused, his eyes focusing on something off in the distance. "Then they had sex, I guess."

"I mean," Velvet giggled. "Technically, this was a part of our overall plan. They couldn't just keep talking and torturing each other forever." If they kept doing those rooms then it would just build up tension and frustration for both. It would have eventually exploded into something similar to this, but it was better that it happened sooner rather than later.
