It was an interesting morning. Mateo never thought that he would see Melvin that way. It brought light to the mystery that surrounded him, but Mateo still wondered a lot. He wished he could ask questions and actually get some answers out of him. The guy never wanted to give him anything straight.
He was glad that he wasn't banned from that club anymore, though. As much as there were things he disliked about it, the place wasn't too bad. It was different from every night club he had ever been too though, that was for sure.
Every time he thought about it, he wished that Wednesday would come sooner. He didn't know why he was like this, and he didn't want to know. Mateo didn't like to think when he felt this way. Then he would be overwhelmed by the fact that he had no stability anymore. Relying solely on his savings was nice, but also nerve wracking. Part of him wanted to start looking for a job already.
Another side wanted to blow all his money on those private rooms. But that would be the biggest mistake he made yet.
Mateo was walking around the downtown of Amor, trying to keep his mind off everything. Days had passed since that hungover morning, and the lack of something to do was starting to drive him insane. He didn't like being alone with his thoughts. They brought out emotions his heart overexaggerated on.
And what was the point of that?
The only thing that relieved those thoughts were the sessions in those rooms. That was why he was so hooked on them. Mateo had no clue how that worked. That was another thing he didn't want to delve into. Right now, it was just something that helped him.
Simple as that.
And seeing Melvin with nothing but pants was only making him long for that session more. It was haunting him every night, those images. The man even managed to slip into his dreams. Every time he only let Mateo barely touch his neck before he pulled away.
That was the strangest thing to him. He wondered why Melvin hid his neck so much, because now he knew that it was on purpose. The man would always change the subject every time he brought it up, too. He wondered why.
He stopped walking mindlessly down the streets when he got to a bookstore. It was the same one he went to with Anton not too long ago. Mateo almost smiled at the memory. It was so strange how he acted so...authentic. Mateo was obviously trying to just do anything to get him on a date. Yet he still went anyway, and just acted like everything was normal. Like there was nothing wrong with reading anything.
It wasn't what Mateo had heard his whole life. The whole thing threw him off guard, looking back at it. There he was, trying to get under the skin of a business owner to get a contract signed, with a brunette that acted calm and happy to simply be there, hanging out with him. He was always the energetic type, especially when he was trying to win someone over. Being energetic was magnetizing to people.
It was nice though, that Anton had stayed so calm throughout everything. For a moment, it almost felt like he could be calm around him too. Mateo hadn't really relaxed around anyone in a long time, but it felt so compelling when he was with him. He wondered what they would have talked about if he hadn't screwed up.
Mateo turned around, looking over to the café that was a few stores away. It was easy to see no matter what time of day or night. He had been avoiding it, not just because of Melvin, but it felt more embarrassing to be broken up with in such a calm way than any other breakup he had gone through. The man had remained calm through everything. It made him more surprised by his actions and stubbornness. The man spoke quietly most of the time, sometimes timidly, yet he never let anyone walk all over him.
