"You know," Benny said. "I have a feeling that this really is a different case from anything we've ever done."
"That's what makes it fun," Will smiled.
"Did they just....get along?!" Justin asked. He was shocked to say the least, and astounded to say the most. Mateo and Melvin absolutely hated each other not too long ago. And both of them were the type of people to hold grudges for a long, long time.
And now...they were getting in a car together...laughing.
"Yup," Cameron chuckled. "Leave it to a bar and some alcohol, I guess." At least it didn't involve them having to go down there to guide the couple. Cameron really wasn't sure what was within their bounds of control at this point.
"I don't think I've seen Mateo this drunk," Sarah laughed, leaning towards the screen. "You think he's going to puke in the morning?"
"My money's on both of them puking by morning," Benny answered. "That, or randomly waking up from dead sleep and rushing to the bathroom before the sun comes up." The bar had to close at a certain time of night, so they hadn't stayed out too late. The two of them did, however, stay until the last call of the night, though. They had downed one more shot before leaving.
"You sound like you've had some experience," Sarah looked at the blond curiously.
"I used to love drinking too much in the 80s," Benny smiled at the memory. "My boyfriend used to have to carry me out most nights. The pictures we got of those times were hilarious."
"Wait till you hear about the Speakeasies," Will winked. "People drank until they couldn't make it outside. Most of them fell asleep on the floor by the end of the party."
"Didn't you die because of alcohol?" Justin asked.
"Moonshine was always a gamble," The brunette shrugged. "It wasn't exactly regulated back then."
"Reminds me of some of the stuff from the 70s," Sarah said. "Those discos could really get wild."
"I'm so glad I wasn't born in any of those times," Justin shook his head. The last thing he needed was to be stuck at a party with a bunch of drunk idiots. He was much more content working with sober ones.
And he meant that as lovingly as possible.
"What about my car?" Matteo slurred. They had already drove away from the bar. Thankfully, Georgina made a great designated driver. "What if it gets stolen?"
"That doesn't happen around here, Boo," The drag queen answered. She had been very playful in the bar, but was now serious and focused on the road ahead of them. "Mel, will you quit giggling like a little school girl and figure out where his address is?"
"I know where I live!" Mateo was laid down in the back seat, but he shot one of his arms straight into the air. "It's on the beach! I looooove it!"
"That's great, Sweety," Georgina was trying not to laugh this time. "But this is Florida. You're going to have to be more specific about which beach. Or maybe just give me the address."
"I don't think he changed his ID yet," Velvet giggled a bit. She had been adamantly watching them the whole night. Will had made three bags of popcorn just for this little show that they got the privilege of watching.
Of course, their office never had a night time. Instead, they would close the curtains to make the room dark. It was very affective at giving it a night look. And the II Department was darker than the giant breakroom Will and Benny typically resided in.
