He really shouldn't be happy to see the man there. It was best to have some space, especially with how much work he had to do. He was lucky enough to find a new worker. She was well trained in the services his business provided. He just wanted to see it in action once before he had her fill out the paperwork.
And then this buffoon barges in, trying to trick him just like the last time.
He would be mad, having someone go to his work this often just to bother him. But he enjoyed seeing those gorgeous green eyes that always held so many emotions in them. They could easily convince him to bring him right back to his office for the night if it weren't for the task at hand.
It was too good to see him get all choked up too. The man couldn't even talk when he asked if he would behave himself. Mateo didn't know what he did to him when he said that. It was like adding gasoline to a flame that already burned so strong. If it went any higher, he would easily lose control.
Melvin kept his face unemotional while they went to one of the rooms. It was one that he had to reserve for this particular reason. He got lucky that one of the people that rented it had to cancel last minute. It was a loss of profit, but at least it would help in the future.
"What's your name?" Mateo asked right when they got in.
"Catalina," she answered. "What's yours?"
"Mateo," he told her, as polite as he had ever been to his workers. Melvin was impressed. He enjoyed that the both of them were introducing themselves at least. It proved that Catalina was good at setting the rules before starting her practice.
"Nice to meet you, Mateo," Catalina glanced over to Melvin for a moment before looking back to him. She looked a little nervous. Like she could pick up on something that Melvin was trying to keep from her. "I'm guessing you're his slave?"
"What?" Mateo looked shocked when he asked. It was almost enough to make him laugh. Those green eyes glanced at him too, full of fleeting thoughts that he couldn't guess in such a short time. "No. I'm no one's slave, first of all!"
There it was. Melvin was waiting for the brat to come out of him. It happened whenever he was frustrated. Melvin enjoyed beating it out of him, but the man never stopped fighting him every single night he came over.
Catalina looked to Melvin curiously. All he did was nod at her and motion to continue. In order to see her skill, he couldn't be in the equation. He was just the bystander, watching what he hoped would be a masterpiece.
"Do you have a safe word?" Catalina asked.
"Safe word?" Mateo rolled his eyes. "I don't need one. Are you going to get started or what?"
This might just be the best way to test the new masters. Mateo wasn't for the weak, that was for sure. Although him saying that he didn't need a safe word left a drop of worry in his stomach. He wondered if the man even knew what that was. Of course, she couldn't be as harsh as Melvin was, so he wasn't too worried.
She was good with tying him up to the poles that were there. She kept her face lacking emotion while she worked, focusing solely on the tasks at hand. That in itself was proof that she had plenty of experience. He let her take her time as she tested the man's resilience and pain tolerance. He could have told her himself, but that would be too easy.
"You like him watching, don't you?" She started to taunt him. As soon as she asked, those green eyes went up to meet his. "You poor, pathetic, boy. To think you could hide anything from me."
Mateo was gagged, so he couldn't say anything this time. He put his head down, looking at the ground as soon as she said that.
He still let her continue to hit him with the flogger. She had gone through many of the instruments, trying to show that she knew how to use them all. Mateo's chest was the perfect canvas for this kind of artwork. Those red marks that formed were trying to lure him to touch them. Perhaps he would as a way to reward him when this was all over. He had behaved so well that night, after all.
Melvin knew that the man usually liked to be humiliated, but there was something different about this time. There was something different about his body language, and the way he kept his face down, that he didn't like. He wasn't sure what was going on in that mind if he couldn't see those eyes, and that was one thing that Catalina wasn't doing.
It wasn't a rule when it came to being a master in these rooms. Melvin always judged people's tolerances through their eyes. It was one thing that he did, especially when they were gagged. There were a lot of clients that didn't realize they were getting pushed past their limits until it was too late. That's why it was their job to stop it before it got to that point.
Melvin knew that he would be okay physically. Catalina wasn't as rough as he usually was with him. It was just something else...
He couldn't put a finger on it.
"What's the matter, handsome?" Catalina asked, gently moving the flogger across the part that she had already reddened. "Are you shy now? Did you get embarrassed when I called you out?" She went closer to him, waiting for an answer. When he kept his head low, she hit him harder. "How pathetic. You're too easy. It's disappointing."
"Stop," Melvin told her, cutting the scene before it got worse. Catalina looked shocked in that moment. She had gotten so into her own act, it seemed like she had forgotten he was even there. It was good. She was good at what she did. He knew that now.
But he couldn't let it go on. There was something that she wasn't seeing. Something that she wouldn't know that was unique to this particular client of theirs. Mateo was similar to many of their clients, in the sense that they enjoyed being degraded both physically and mentally. But there was something that she said that went too far. Melvin didn't even know until he saw one drop of liquid fall from the man's face.
And there was no way it could be sweat.
Melvin walked up to him, putting a hand on that chin to lift it up. Just as he thought, the man wasn't sweating at all. Instead, those green eyes were watering, trying to avoid his gaze.
"Untie him," Melvin told her. "As fast as you can."
"I'm so sorry, sir," Catalina immediately went to the ropes. "I didn't know it would."
"Neither did I," he told her. "Don't worry about it. Just untie him."
He took the gag out of the man's mouth, massaging his jaw to try and calm him down. The man was holding a lot inside right then. Those emerald eyes looked so close to cracking. Melvin knew that he had issues, but he didn't think they were going to get to them through these sessions. He wasn't a therapist, but he had enough sessions with clients to know that all it could take was one wrong word and it could break through their tough shell to show the true problems underneath.
They had broken his shell unintentionally.
"Give me a minute with him," he told Catalina as soon as she was done untying the man. "Can you bring some water?"
"You got it," she immediately left after that. He was thankful that she was calm through this. It showed him that this wasn't the first time this had happened to her either. That was probably why she asked about a safe word in the beginning.
"Mateo," Melvin knelt down. The man was sitting on the ground. There were no chairs in that room. "Mateo, it's okay. You're safe."
As soon as he said that, it was like a dam collapsing. The man that was usually so bratty and irritable, was now balling in his arms. It wasn't the first time he had seen a strong man break finally. But it didn't make the instance any surprising.
He stayed on the floor with him while he let out all those emotions. He didn't care how long it took. That was the price they paid for going too far in these rooms. Melvin hated when they pushed someone too far. He didn't know why he thought that Mateo couldn't be. The man had talked so much shit, he thought it would take ages until he would finally let some of his emotions out. Anything other than the anger that he always showed when he was upset.
"It's okay, Mateo," Melvin continued to whisper to the man. He rubbed his back, pulling him close. "Let it out. It's going to be okay."
