He should definitely get a lottery ticket, because that had to be the luckiest he had ever been. Mateo knew that it was going to take a while for them to repair it, and someone was going to come out tomorrow to start working on it, but he was just so glad that he didn't have to deal with all the copays. The fact that he only had to spend two hours with them to get it all sorted out made him ecstatic.

And now he got to finally relax some.

It was a surprise that Melvin had answered his phone, too. Mateo seriously thought he was going to have to go bug him at that club. It kind of sucked that he had to wait even longer to see him, though. The conversation they had before heading out still flashed through his head. And that kiss they shared still burned on his lips.

Lucas had asked whether they were officially together or not. No matter how Mateo thought about it, he had absolutely no clue. He didn't know whether Melvin wanted to take this to the next steps. Mateo should probably ask him and talk to him about it, but it just felt like it didn't matter what label they put on this.

Because at the end of the day, he knew that just being the center of his attention was enough for him. He didn't crave one of those soft, fluffy relationships with dates and small talk. He wanted the deep kind. He wanted the conversations that meant something. He wanted it to be real: the talking, the fucking. Everything.

They didn't have to put a label on it, so long as the chemistry and connection they had now never died. Melvin didn't seem like the type to fuck around, so Melvin wasn't too worried about that. The only thing he was worried about was him getting bored of him. He wasn't sure if that would ever happen, but he would do his best to make sure it never happened.

He got to Melvin's house quickly after getting lost in thought. It was strange going there by himself. The two other times he had been taken here. He wasn't even sure if the door was locked or not. Melvin should be home by then, but he couldn't see any other car parked by the small house.

Well, at least the door was unlocked. Mateo walked in there to find it in the exact same condition it was that morning. They left the dirty dishes because Melvin was in such a rush. Mateo hated doing dishes, but he supposed it would be the least he could do here since he was staying there for free.

Mateo got lost in thought while cleaning them off. He had been too busy soaking everything that happened the past few days in that he couldn't seem to pay attention to anything else. He seriously went from feeling like nothing to having a strange sense of belonging with someone he never thought he would end up with.

Well, this hadn't just happened within a few days, but a lot had happened in such a short time, it was crazy to think about. It was a strange whiplash that threw Mateo into unfamiliar territory. He wasn't complaining about it...he was just shocked that it all happened so quickly.

"You look good like that," Melvin's voice made him jump. Mateo turned to see the man shut the front door, smiling at him.

"Don't get used to it," Mateo told him, trying to keep his cool. "I hate doing dishes."

"That's a shame," his voice got closer. It was like every step he took was heightening Mateo's own senses of him. He could feel him get closer, all the way until he was right behind him. "I'd love to see you like this more often." He put a hand on his him so gently that Mateo could barely feel it, but enough for it to drive him mad.

"Did you get your A.C. fixed at that club?" he changed the subject. He didn't know why he was trying to avoid it right then. But if he started begging for it now, it would just make him tease him more.

Actually, no matter what he was going to lead him on. Mateo couldn't really win either way.

He really wasn't good at this stuff.
