"You're important to me," Melvin said as he hugged Mateo. It was such a heavy moment, Will was holding his breath the whole time. It was one of those times when you couldn't tear your eyes away.

Just by Mateo's reaction, Will's heart reached out to the man. He knew that he had a potential for good somewhere underneath that selfish exterior. It was easy to see right then that the two of them were so much better for each other than he could have imagined.

"I don't even know what to say," Sarah said. "That's gotta be the most romantic I've seen either of them." It was better than any romance movie she had ever seen. Definitely worth all the heartache it took to get them both here.

"It's been a long time since Melvin's been like this with anyone," Cameron said, wiping their eyes with a tissue. "This is what I meant about him being caring." They knew that it really didn't seem like it when these two first started seeing each other, but Cameron knew that it was still there. Melvin had a big heart. You just had to get through the guard dogs first.

"This brings back memories," Benny sniffled. He had plenty of nights like these with his boyfriend when he was mortal. They were sad memories, but good ones, nonetheless. "This is great, though! They're finally realizing that they love each other!"

"As long as Melvin doesn't try to pull away," Velvet said. "There's still many things that could go wrong here, sweetheart."

"Well, they haven't pulled away from each other yet," Benny said. "And I know from personal experience that once you get to that point, it's hard to go separate ways."

"I'm surprised we got through Mateo's insecurities before Melvin's," Justin finally said. "I didn't think Mateo would get to the point where he would cry at least."

"That's common with BDSM," Cameron answered. "There are a lot of people that use it as therapy. Being degraded like that, in a safe environment, can help the person sort out their feelings." They couldn't help but smile again, looking at the screen. "While that wasn't established when Melvin and Mateo first started this, Melvin's too experienced as a Master to let that continue."

"I think it's more than that," Will said. He wasn't an expert when it came to this kind of bedroom fun. But he had seen enough relationships to know a few things. This wasn't the type of love that flew away. Their connection was stronger than Will had originally thought.

He remembered when Mateo first met Melvin, before they even knew each other's names. It was a quick conversation as Mateo tried to get some more information about Anton's café. Even though there were some lies shared between the two of them, it was clear that they had electricity between them. Will just hadn't known how strong that was until now. They were both magnetized to each other. It was both bad and good.

"They still have a long ways to go," Obasi said. "But this is a great start to the right path."

They took their time in that room, talking quietly. Mateo hadn't wanted to say much at first, but he opened up with very little effort by Melvin. They had both of their files, but it didn't talk too much of their pasts, only the history of their love life. Because of that, none of them knew what was really bothering Mateo. They could have bet, or made educated guesses, but there was no telling until it finally came out.

The only person that could have known more about Mateo's past was the bosses in charge of the departments. They were the only ones with the authority to pull such information from the Fate's department. If a cupid needed more information, it had to go through a bunch of paperwork and the boss' approval.

It was a good thing that Will hadn't asked for that.

"I still think he should have just been sent to my department," Anteros crossed his arms. Eros was enjoying a well deserved break with his brother in his office. He kept the television on the scene with Melvin and Mateo. Eros loved to watch them just as much as the group of cupids did. It was one of the most interesting cases the department had right then.
