"Dinner's ready... you wanna eat with me?"
Hope looks back up at her. "Sure...why not."

The two start eating together at the dinner table.
Hope is surprised at how good the food tastes.
"Where did you learn to cook like that?"
Josie looks up at her and chuckles.
"That good huh? My mother taught me. She said I had real talent and would make the perfect wife."
"Well you truly are talented I must say." Hope said honestly but with an emotionless expression.
"Thank you Hopey." Josie replies with a gentle smile.
Hope frowns at her.
Josie notices this.
"What? You get to call me "love", but I can't give you a nickname?" she grins.
Hope lowers her gaze to her plate.
"Are you still hungry? I can give you a blood bag if you want." Josie asked in a worried voice.

Hope looks up at her again, "No I am fine as I can be."
"Alright then."
Josie gets up from her seat and brings everything into the kitchen.
She sets everything down on the kitchen island, accidentally knocking over a glass. Before it falls to the floor, Hope catches it.
She looks up at her and slowly stands up again. She hands her the glass.
"You should be more careful, love."
Josie blushes. "Thank you."

She puts the glass away and turns back to Hope, who is standing directly behind her. She takes a strand of Josie's hair and plays with it.
"So tell me... how do you plan on bringing my humanity back may I ask?"
Josie looks deeply into her eyes as Hope looks away from her strand of hair.
"You'd like to know, but I'm sorry, a magician never reveals his tricks." She said with a grin.
Hope scoffs and let go off her hair.
"You are no fun. The other you was much better."
Josie looks at her in surprise.
"Oh really, how's that?"
"You were like me. You didn't care about anything and anyone. No guilt, no nothing. You wanted control over everything and everyone... Everyone feared you."
Josie grabs Hope's hands.
"Except you... you were there for me and showed me how to escape this side of myself. Because of you, I was able to defeat it. And now I'm stronger because of you.
You have always been there for me and now I am there for you whether you want it or not, I won't give up on you. You won't get rid of me that easily."
Hope looks at their hands and back at Josie. "We'll see about that." and let go of her hand before she walks off back to her room.
Josie sighs. "This will be harder than I thought."
She turns around and starts washing the dishes. When she was finished she received a call from Lizzie and went outside.

Hope's POV

(bold= Humanity Hope)

I went back to my room and quickly closed the door and leaned against it.
"Why can't she just give up on me, it's not that hard."
"Because she cares about you...more than anyone else."
The version of me with humanity stands before me.
"Great...you're also here.
Can you please just dissapear again, I can't stand you."
"I can't do that...not when you're around Josie."
"Oh so you think that she isn't safe here with me. That's interesting. Now I understand why I behave like that around her even though I can't feel anything."
"I won't let you hurt her.
You still care about her, that's why I am here. You're scared that you would hurt her just like the others who tried to help you. That's why you push her away. But you know Josie. She won't let you down. And I am here to help her."
I laugh dryly.
"Well good luck with that. Whatever she has planned it won't work. I'll make sure of it. I don't want you back. I don't need you. I'm completely fine without you. I have fully control over myself without worrying about anyone else except me.
No Josie, no family, no Landon and most of all I don't need to feel anything like love, loss and guilt. It's exhausting...
It's exhausting, having this constant fear of losing someone important in my life. I'm tired of it."
"But shutting it down is not the right way."
"It was in that moment after I killed him. And it will stay that way."
I went out of the room to calm myself down when I heard Josie talking to someone.
I see her outside the door talking to someone on the phone. I listened secretly.
