Hope's POV

"You just let the last person, who cares about you deeply go." She says dissapointed.

Now you have what you wanted... Josie is no longer here, are you happy now? You're all alone now. Nobody will come and take you out of here. No one can do that but Josie and she definitely won't come back after you hurt her. She started crying because of you and walked away.
How are you going to fix this, hmm?"

I'm still standing in front of the door and try to get through the barrier but without success.

"You know you can't ignore me forever.
I am a part of you and always will be.
I will never leave your side and never stop fighting you. I promised Josie that and I will keep that promise forever.
I will do everything I can to ensure that you become the girl Josie fell in love with again, no matter what it takes."

I continued to look outside the door and laughed dryly as I turned towards her.
"How noble of you. How you try to fight for this one girl against your biggest rival.
That's romantic but at the same time pathetic of you. Why are you trying so hard to fight for her?
She's just a simple girl who will eventually die when the time comes, just like everyone else.
And there's nothing you can do about it."

She has a look that shows she's about to attack and starts to approach me like I'm her prey.

"Josie is not just a 'simple girl' as you put it. She is 'the one'.
The one who had her eyes on you since day one. The one who wrote an incredibly winding love letter for you and burned it out of fear that you wouldn't return her feelings. Even though you do.
The one who would do anything just to see you smile.
The one who will always be on your side and fight side by side with you no matter how dangerous and hopeless it may be. The one who accepts you as who you are, with all your flaws. The one who doesn't see you as a monster, but as a hero.
The one that not only honors your parents but your entire family. The one who sees your father as a hero even though everyone else thinks otherwise, who sacrificed his life for his daughter so that she can stand here today, just like your mother.
The one who does everything in her power to lure out your humanity so that you can find yourself again. The one who showed you what true and endless love is.
This sweetheart is Josette Olivia Saltzman to me. And I will do anything in my power so that she enjoys her mortal life until her last breath. Maybe then we'll even have a chance to get together."

"This wouldn't work with you. Josie is mortal. And you don't want her to become a heretic. You want to spare her the suffering."

"She doesn't need to become a heretic.
I'll just take the cure and become mortal again.
So Josie is spared the suffering and can enjoy her life to the fullest. She would have the opportunity to become a mother and start her own family. And maybe if we work out, I'll be part of her little family, as her future wife...if she still wants to marry me after everything.
I want her to be the mother of my future children. There's always a loophole, so there will be a way for us to start our own family. I'm sure of it."

"You're pathetic. Why would Josie ever want to be with me? Have you already forgotten what I did to her? I put her father in a coma, I put her in the therapy box and I killed her own sister and unintentionally turned her into a heretic.
There's no way that Josie will stay by my side after all of that."

My humanity  suddenly smiles and looks out behind me.
"Are you really sure about that?" She says with a grin.
Confused, I turned around and saw Josie walking back towards the house.
"I knew that she'll come back."

I watch her walk inside the house towards the living room where I am.
"You're back."
"Of course I'm back, why wouldn't I?"
"I just fought you left me because I hurt you."
"No, why would you even think such a thing?
I just left to get this."
She holds up a gas can.
