The Mikaelson family's grand living room in New Orleans was alive with chatter, laughter, and the occasional clink of glasses. It was a rare and peaceful evening, with no supernatural chaos threatening their peace—a perfect night for a family game night. The large room was adorned with soft lighting and plush couches, a perfect blend of old-world charm and modern comforts. Klaus, Hayley, Elijah, Rebekah, Kol, and Freya were all scattered around, each sipping on drinks as they prepared for their next round of Monopoly.

Hope Mikaelson, seated cross-legged on the floor, was arranging the game pieces, a small smile playing on her lips. She loved nights like this, when her family could be together and the worries of their past seemed far away. But what she loved more than anything was that Josie, her wife, was here to share it with her.

Josie had been in the kitchen, chatting with Freya earlier, but now her voice rang out from the doorway.

"HOPE ANDREA MIKAELSON!"

The room fell silent instantly. Every head turned to look at Hope, who froze in place, her hand still hovering over the game board. Her eyes widened, and her heart skipped a beat at the sound of her full name being shouted so loudly. That never meant anything good.

Kol, never missing an opportunity to stir the pot, let out a low whistle. "Ohhh, you're screwed."

Rebekah smirked, and Klaus raised an amused eyebrow, his attention fully on the scene unfolding in front of him.

Hope, wide-eyed and nervous, slowly stood up, her movements cautious as though she was walking toward impending doom. She locked eyes with Josie, who was standing in the doorway with her arms crossed, her expression unreadable. Hope's mind raced as she tried to think of what she could've possibly done wrong.

"My love," Hope said cautiously, her voice wavering slightly. "What is it?"

Josie's serious expression slowly melted into a smile, and then a playful grin spread across her face. "Nothing," she said sweetly, stepping forward. "I just wanted to tell you that I love you."

Hope blinked, her body relaxing as relief washed over her. She let out a deep breath, a hand flying to her chest as if to calm her racing heart. The room, which had been holding its collective breath, erupted into laughter.

Kol practically doubled over, slapping Klaus on the back. "Oh, you should've seen the look on her face! I haven't seen Hope that scared since—well, ever!"

Rebekah chuckled softly, leaning back in her chair. "She's definitely found her match."

Hope, now fully recovered, rolled her eyes playfully at her family but turned her focus back to Josie, who was smiling up at her with mischief dancing in her eyes. Hope stepped closer to her wife and gently wrapped her arms around Josie's waist, pulling her close.

"I love you too," Hope whispered softly, her forehead resting against Josie's. She leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss to Josie's lips, the rest of the world fading away for a moment.

The family watched them with a mixture of amusement and affection. Klaus couldn't help but smile, proud of his daughter for finding such happiness despite the chaos of their lives.

When the kiss ended, Hope looked back at her family with a sheepish grin. "Well, I guess we're ready for the next round."

Klaus clapped his hands together. "Monopoly, then. Let's see how long before Kol starts cheating."

"I do not cheat!" Kol protested, though his devilish smirk suggested otherwise.

As everyone settled back into their places, Hope and Josie joined them on the floor, leaning against each other as they prepared for the game. Rebekah handed Josie the dice, and with a playful glint in her eyes, Josie rolled for her and Hope.

"You're lucky you're cute," Hope whispered to Josie as she nudged her with her shoulder. "That was terrifying."

Josie laughed softly, resting her head against Hope's. "I know. But you should've seen your face—it was priceless."

They exchanged another soft smile before focusing on the game, and soon the room was once again filled with the lighthearted banter of a family that, despite everything, was happy to be together. In that moment, it was perfect—no monsters, no threats, just laughter, love, and a seemingly never-ending game of Monopoly.

As the night wore on, Hope couldn't help but glance at Josie every now and then, feeling overwhelmingly grateful that they had found this happiness together. And no matter what life—or Kol's cheating strategies—threw at them, they would always be in it together.
