When the dance ended, the guests erupted into applause, and the newlyweds beamed at each other, lost in their own world. Hope felt a pang of longing, but she pushed it down, reminding herself that today was about Josie's happiness.

As the evening began to wind down, the reception hall buzzed with laughter and conversation. Josie, radiant and full of joy, excused herself from her guests and made her way across the room. Hope, lost in thought and nursing a glass of champagne, didn't notice her approach until Josie gently touched her arm.

"Hope," Josie said, her eyes shining, "will you dance with me?"

Hope blinked, taken aback. "Of course," she replied, setting her glass down and taking Josie's hand. They moved to the dance floor, and as the music began, Hope wrapped her arms around Josie's waist, drawing her close.

"I'm so happy," Josie said, resting her head on Hope's shoulder. "This day has been perfect."

Hope's heart ached with a bittersweet longing. She held Josie tighter, trying to memorize the feel of her in her arms. "You deserve all the happiness in the world, Josie."

The song played on, and Hope allowed herself to imagine, just for a moment, that this was their wedding dance. She closed her eyes, savoring the warmth of Josie's body against hers, wishing that this moment could last forever.

When the song ended, Josie pulled back slightly, looking up at Hope with a grateful smile. "Thank you for being here, Hope. It means so much to me."

Hope nodded, forcing a smile. "I wouldn't have missed it for anything."

The rest of the evening passed in a blur. Hope congratulated the happy couple one last time before slipping away, her heart heavy. She drove home in silence, the events of the day playing over and over in her mind. When she finally reached her bedroom, she closed the door behind her and slid down to the floor, tears streaming down her face. She had let the chance to be with Josie slip through her fingers, and now it was too late.

Meanwhile, at their new home, Josie and her husband shared a tender wedding night. They whispered sweet nothings to each other, their love filling the room. But even in her happiness, a small part of Josie couldn't shake the feeling that something was missing.

As they lay together, Josie's thoughts drifted back to her dance with Hope. There was something in Hope's eyes, a depth of emotion that Josie couldn't quite place. She pushed the thought aside, focusing on the warmth and love of her new husband. But a part of her heart still ached with an unnamed longing.

That night, Hope had a dream. In it, she stood at the altar with her back to the door. As the music began to play, she turned with a smile, seeing Josie walking down the aisle with her father. Josie took Hope's breath away with her beauty, tears of happiness in her eyes. They exchanged vows, their voices filled with emotion, and said their "I do's."

After the ceremony, they danced together, Josie whispering in Hope's ear, "I love you so much. I can't believe I get to spend the rest of my life with the love of my life by my side."

Hope looked at her with love in her eyes and replied, "Believe it or not, my love, but I was asking myself the same thing. I love you too, so, so much." They kissed deeply, sealing their love.

In the dream, they arrived at their new home. Hope carried Josie bridal style across the threshold and into their bedroom, their hearts overflowing with love and joy.

Hope woke with a start, the dream fading but the emotions lingering. She lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, tears slipping down her cheeks. The dream had felt so real, so vivid, that it was almost painful to wake up and remember the reality. She knew she had to find a way to move on, but for now, she allowed herself to mourn what could have been.

The next morning, Josie woke in her new home, her husband still asleep beside her. She stared at the ceiling, a strange sense of melancholy creeping in. She couldn't shake the feeling that, despite everything, a part of her heart was still with someone else.

There will be a Part 3, if you guys want that.
