The early morning light filtered softly through the curtains, casting a golden glow over the room. Hope stirred first, her eyes fluttering open as she became aware of the warmth beside her. She smiled, feeling Josie's arm wrapped protectively around her waist, and the gentle rise and fall of Josie's breathing as she slept.
For a moment, Hope just lay there, basking in the tranquility of the morning, letting herself savor the feeling of Josie in her arms. She couldn't resist the urge to be closer. Smiling to herself, she leaned in and placed a soft kiss on Josie's cheek. Then, she kissed her again—this time on the tip of her nose. Her lips traveled down to Josie's jawline, leaving delicate kisses across her skin, until finally, they hovered just above Josie's lips.
As if sensing the closeness, Josie stirred, her eyelids fluttering open. When her eyes focused on Hope, a slow smile spread across her face. Without a word, she closed the gap, pressing her lips softly against Hope's, returning the affection. The kiss was tender and sweet, full of the warmth that only a morning shared between lovers could bring.
When they finally pulled apart, Josie let out a soft, contented sigh. "It's amazing to wake up like this," she whispered, her voice thick with sleep and happiness, her eyes still sparkling as they gazed up at Hope.
Hope smiled, brushing her thumb gently over Josie's cheek. "I couldn't resist," she said softly. "You just looked so peaceful... and beautiful."
Josie blushed slightly, pulling Hope closer until their bodies were pressed together. "I think you should wake me up like this every morning," she teased, her lips curving into a playful grin.
Hope chuckled softly, leaning down to kiss her again, this time more slowly, savoring the moment. "Deal," she whispered against Josie's lips. "I think I can manage that."
The morning felt perfect, the world outside fading into the background as they held each other close, knowing that they had all the time in the world for moments like this—full of love, warmth, and tenderness.
Hope settled back into the pillows, her fingers absentmindedly tracing soft patterns along Josie's arm as they lay wrapped up in each other. The peacefulness of the morning, the warmth of the sunlight filtering through the curtains—it was all perfect. She looked into Josie's eyes, her heart swelling with love as they shared a comfortable silence, just taking in each other's presence.
"That was..." Josie began, her voice soft as she tried to find the right words. She let out a small laugh, shaking her head in disbelief. "I don't even have words for how incredible last night was."
Hope smiled, her heart fluttering at Josie's confession. She reached up, gently tucking a strand of hair behind Josie's ear. "It was amazing," Hope whispered, her eyes filled with sincerity. "Being with you like that, it felt... right. Like everything in my life had been leading me to that moment."
Josie's cheeks flushed, her fingers brushing across Hope's skin. "I never imagined it could feel that way. Being with you... it's so much more than I ever dreamed of." She paused, her gaze softening. "You make me feel safe, like I can just be myself."
Hope's eyes glistened with emotion, her heart swelling at Josie's words. "That's all I ever want—for you to feel safe with me. To know that I'm always here for you, no matter what." She leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to Josie's lips. "You make me feel the same way, Josie. I didn't think I could ever trust anyone like this."
Josie's fingers lightly grazed Hope's arm, and she smiled, feeling the weight of those words. "I never thought I'd find someone who truly gets me. But with you, it's effortless. It's like we're two halves of the same whole."
Hope nodded, her throat tight with emotion. "Last night... It was more than just physical. It was this connection, this bond. I felt so close to you, like every part of me belonged to you."
